It still is one of the nicest, non dslr-looking micro 4/3 cameras because there haven’t been any significant improvements to image quality or features since it came out. Give us a nice rangefinder looking camera with a built in EVF soon. I still have my 20mm 1.7 for now. That’s the last of my m4/3 [...]

I think the fat that the lens is a rip off is why they haven’t attracted a distributer. All it is is a lens that is mounted backwards. You can get a reverse macro adapter for $10 which will let you do the same thing with lenses you might already own. http://www.amazon.com/Fotodiox-Filter-Thread-Reverse-Adapter/dp/B001G4NBSC combine that with [...]

  • Noah commented on the blog post GF1 Owner: GF2 headed off in some other direction?   1 year, 1 month ago · View

Having owned a GF1 and now owning a GF2 I can say that your “review” is totally off base. “took away manual controls” is pretty misleading. The camera has the same thumb wheel as the GF1. The touch screen works great to select your focus point with AF & MF lenses. The decrease in size [...]

  • Noah commented on the blog post Dpreview posts the Panasonic GH2 in depth review (+in Stock at Adorama)   1 year, 2 months ago · View

IMO GH2 feels like a Canon Rebel. Definitely not up to say a D7000 or even a 60D body build. The back leather grained hard plastic next to the control wheel feels cheap as does the plastic shutter button and the surround silver painted plastic as well. The 4 way control button is the worst. [...]

Wow I’m really hoping for that “21mm f/1.75″, that would go great with my 20mm 1.7.

  • Noah commented on the blog post (FT5) After the G3 there will be one more Panasonic m43 camera in August!   1 year, 2 months ago · View

Because of this rumor I just cancelled my GH2 order at Panasonic. Well not really completely, just got tired of waiting almost 3 months, plus I’m liking my lil GF2. I really hope the G3 looks more like a rangefinder than a DSLR.

  • I think a part of why the EPL-2 has a edge over the GF2 is the fact that the ISO’s don’t line up. For example at ISO 1600 the GF2 is at 1/1000th of a sec and the EPL2 is at 1/640th in DPReview sample studio photos. Looks like GF2 is over ratting, EPL2 is [...]

  • Noah commented on the blog post (FT4) Panasonic 25mm f/1.4 to cost around $750-800   1 year, 2 months ago · View

Hmm so keeping up with current deals and best bang for the buck camera systems is giving bad advice? Also I have a GF2 with 20mm & 14mm lenses so it’s not like I hate this format, I just think if Panasonic & Olympus want to appeal to new users they need to be somewhat [...]

  • Noah commented on the blog post (FT4) Panasonic 25mm f/1.4 to cost around $750-800   1 year, 2 months ago · View

For Nikon APS-C cameras Nikon has the excellent 35mm 1.8 for $200. 52.5mm in 35mm fov terms. Why can’t Panasonic or Olympus make something like that for their customers? $700+ is ridiculous. Yes 1.8 is slower but the larger sensor makes up for that and would give about the same depth of field plus having [...]

  • When The Panasonic GF1 came out it was $900 with the 20mm lens + if you wanted the viewfinder it was a extra $200 I think. I’m really surprised that the fuji is as “cheap” as it is! It’s probably the most I would pay for it though.
