Amen.
I could not care less what my m43 lenses are equivalent to in FF. I don’t use FF lenses, they are TOO HEAVY for me. Hell, my 4/3 lenses were too heavy. As long as my little lens gets the photo I want, I don’t care what number is or isn’t on its barrel. -

That the articulated screen can be closed and the screen protected is an advantage over the tilt-only screen. Also, tilting in portrait aspect is advantageous.

From the look of these samples comparing the E-M5 and the GH2 stills, the E-m5 images are not as detailed as the GH2. However, some might find the E-m5 images preferable.

I have an E-M5 on order but I’m having second thoughts. The more I see and hear the more likely I am to cancel and wait for some word on the GH3.
Does the “hum” effect video sound?

Bill Oriani commented on the blog post (UPDATED) GH2 for $599! E-P2 now for $229! E-PL1 still for $149. GX1 for $549. 1 month ago · View
Perhaps this will give a little insight to the USA camera market. I bought my GH2 in November 2010 and this Saturday, almost 18 months later, I finally met another GH2 local owner. I rarely see anyone carrying interchangeable lens cameras other than Canon or Nikon. I live in Austin, TX, a university town of [...]

For those of you with a thing about tripods… please forgive me, I shoot video mostly in crowded bars and I just prefer to handhold the camera and live with the shaky results. http://youtu.be/pUrU9ZLrZnI I shot this in a dark bar with a GH2 with an Olympus 14-54mm lens at ISO 12800 and the 44mb [...]

A more appropriate comparison might be the 20mm f/1.7 (40mm in ff) and the 24mm (38mm in ff) f/1.8 – in the USA the Pany 25 cost $539 and the Sony 24 cost $999 – I find it hard to believe the prices are that much closer in Swiss. Are you confusing the 4/3 pany [...]

+1 as I’ve mentioned here before, I own both a GH2 and a Nikon D7000 and the D7000 has only very slightly better image quality than the GH2. That said, I think the GH2 is much more fun to use, easier to use, and is by far my favorite camera. I now rarely use the [...]

But I have to say the GH2 onboard mic and recorder is very good (much, much better than my D7000 – not even close) for a lot of what I do. I use a Rode Stereo videomic about 50% of the time. If I were a pro, I’d use an external recorder, etc, etc.

twoomy – I used the 4/3 9mm-18mm lens on my GH2 with the Olympus MMF-1 adapter. It’s slow for sure but it is also a very light weight setup. I use the 9-18 mostly for videos.

It’s kind of odd to be negatively comparing a camera that has been busily working for over a year to one that is still unavailable…
As for the superiority of the still unavailable camera…. we’ll see.

It sounds like this could be a good lens for video with the Pen cameras. But obviously, this is not going to be attractive to a lot of prosumers. Are we guilty of being overly optimistic? Are there any examples of Camera companies that are able produce a complete line of lenses in a many [...]

I totally agree. As a GH2 and D7000 owner, I will never again buy a camera with a fixed screen. The tilt/swivel screen is just too useful.
