DON’T GET SUCKED INTO THIS ADMIN! If they don’t get it by now, then I think they may never understand. f number or f-stop has always been about exposure – always. Hence the word “stop”. Unless people have forgotten why shutter speed/aperture/sensor or film speed are standardized in convenient base 2 logarithmic scale?!!! Back before [...]

I’d save up and get the 12mm for US$700. The colours will be worth it. It is an amazing lens. It’ll be faster too
just be patient. -

I’ve never been to a NEX forum, do any m43 users go to there? And do they talk as much crap? All this DOF talk annoys me very much. I shoot a lot in dark places. I want fast lenses but need more DOF! A larger sensor wouldn’t be able to focus as easily. m43 [...]

As the first touchscreen on a camera I have used, I have to say that I am impressed. Features such as selecting focus point and touch-to-shoot are easy to turn on and use. Using arrow buttons to do this is crap in comparison. Flicking through the photos I have taken is effortless (except I can’t [...]

Looking pro is important. When I’ve used my GF-1 for work with the oly 12mm, some people have even asked if it was a film camera! I wonder what they’ll think when I whip out my E-M5 next week!

No, I have the money, just not in my card account (don’t have a credit card!). And it is a public holiday today so I couldn’t move my money in the time since I got the call to say it was available. @Lucky Did you get any perks? I considered buying from an international vendor [...]

The E-M5 arrived at my local camera store (Paxtons Sydney CBD). I pre-ordered a black body-only. Apparently 9 other people pre-ordered it too. The problem is that only one arrived! Fortunately I was first in line so when they called I paid my deposit and had my name written on it. Frustratingly I don’t have [...]

I don’t get that either! How does it use the same mount? I can understand if it has a multi aspect ratio sensor but surely the image circle of m43 lenses are pretty much the same.

I’m going to wait until July and see if I can get an E-M5 from anywhere (probably Hong Kong or the USA) for under AU$1000 (AU$1 =US$1.03). Otherwise I will buy a GH-2 and wait until the E-M6 or E-M7 comes out!

I also hope GH-3 has 3rd party app or an open source operating system.

At first I thought yay, then I lol-ed at April fools joke, then I thought just that. I don’t think there would be much Vitaly does that Panasonic couldn’t do, they just choose not to. So if they were to hire him, it would be to stop the hacks. It would be bad news!

apps would be a great idea – let third party software developers write apps like various manual focus assist options (faux split circle or rangefinder centre image).
Also need:
- wireless flash remote (could probably integrate that into wi-fi)
- fully articulated screen
- multi aspect ratio sensor -

bean5y commented on the blog post (UPDATED)E-M5 studio test samples. What do you think? 2 months, 1 week ago · View
Maybe the sensor has expired already?
They might just have the white balance wrong or have it set to a default K value then changed a studio light that was a different slightly different colour.
