Low voltage (from over-discharge) isn’t going to damage the electronics, but it can damage the batteries. Note that these batteries appear to be unprotected LiIon cells that can over-discharge.

I was at a Roller Derby bout the other night, and let me tell you, the 75/1.8 would have been really useful.

That was admitted by Sony when NEX was introduced.

LiveMOS is an Olympus trademark, not any particular technology.

Pancakes are, in general, a severe compromise. The Sony 2.8/16 is more compromised than most. If Sony actually had a good lens in the 84° format, I would be more interested in a comparison with the 2/12 or the 7-14 at 12mm.

Thanks for making the video, Michael. It seems to me that the noise is pretty durned low, not a whole lot above the noise level of the recording. How would you say that it compares to the fan on a laptop? And since I’ve been forewarned, I won’t be surprised when my OM-D gets here [...]

Which might be a good argument for a 300/5.6 of high quality.

And I want a pony!
I almost voted for that one, but the problem is that such an adapter has to be specific to each lens in order to deliver adequate quality.

You don’t really want #3, as its only possible in a non-TTL design. I’ll take peaking, as it appears to be useful.

That was my thought, too. It looks like it was gleaned from the previous wish list thread.

Look into LED panels and rings lights. Given increasingly capable EVF’s and high ISO performance, I suspect that strobes will be a thing of the past.

multi-spot is just a manual version of ESP metering. It would be nice to get that last bit of control, but ESP combined with hi-spot and low-spot seems like a reasonable substitute.
But, yes, someone needs to send Vitaliy an E-M5 ASAP.

I’m not worried about it. It will still work great for many years, and do all the things I want from a camera, and with aplomb.

Wides are a bit harder to design, true, but lenses aren’t priced that way. Come to think of it, nothing is priced that way. Look at it in this manner: products run in lines, with similar performance, appearance, and price. If you take as an example the SHG line, the 150/2 costs $2500 at B&H, [...]
