Kinetics says this is a GH3 underwater case??? Only a marketing trick?
A couple of readers sent me a link to that image. It is coming from the Nauticam Europe Wholeslae store. On the image and within the text specification you can read many times GH-3. So what the heck is that? A huge error? Or…they know the GH3 is coming soon?
I think this is probably a marketing trick to promote the Gibson Underwater Housing by BS Kinetics (for sale here on eBay).

2 years ago |Yes. It’s certainly plausible. I’d suspect that if the GH3 is supposedly to be announced around Photokina time, the body would have already been finalized and even being produced at this point. Software tweaks are another issue.
There have been many instances of iPod and iPhone and iPad accessory makers leaking specs, new or relocated ports and whatnot.

2 years ago |If you look at their website, or eBay listings, it’s full of photos of housings for other cameras than what they are advertising.

Is the same front photo (with possibly a Canon lens inside,) the 3/4 rear view shows a Canon camera back, and the rear view shows an Olympus E-620.
I’m assuming they don’t even build a housing until someone orders one, at which point you hope they can actually pull it off. …And possibly send them your camera as a reference.

2 years ago |Come on, this is obviously a typo, its supposed to be g3. How on earth can someone make a case let alone an underwater case for a camera that’s not even finished. Its not healthy to speculate over such small rumors. More valid rumors please admin!

2 years ago |This can’t be! The GH3 is supposed to be waterproof to 1000 feet, levitate by mind control, have 3 universal shutters (for 3x 3D imaging) with 333 megapixel sensors (it needs universal shutters since they need to be bigger than global).
So I doubt this is an underwater case for the GH3.

2 years ago |Maybe “BS Kinetics” assume that they have built a kind of “flexible” housing that could also fit a GH2 successor.
Unlike other manufacturers, they seem not to put in actuators for all buttons, but just a a few they consider “relevant” – which would make it easier to adapt to another model.
