Very interesting, now I know how to remove the annoying autofocus beep!
“Beeper
There is an annoying in focus beeper. You have to spend quite a while turning on the secret menu system to turn it off.
Once you’ve activated the secret menu system, press:
MENU > GEARS > GEARS D (disp / o)) / PC) > o)) > OFF > OK
to turn it off.”

I have always considered useless threads or hands-on of people who “preview” or comment on cameras they have handled briefly in a store or at a show, etc..
Nobody should pay ANY attention to any posts of someone who comments on a camera that he has not even handled. Purely ridiculous.
and then of course you have Ken ‘s blatant agenda to just remind of his own bias ( Nikon D40, listing Hasselblad like it is the only camera making 2 1/4x 21/4 cameras,…)
of course the comment about Oly pitching his Ep1 like a cellular phone camera is offensive and ridiculous . But I know enough about blogs to know that Ken ‘s Rockwell notoriety on the net is inversely proportional to his knowledge

3 years ago |My wife bought a EP-1 and I have played with this camera.
The Art Filters are childish. The Af is weak and the menu overexaggerated. Photography with outstretched hands does not look and leads to blur.
The IQ is +/- OK, but a don’t like that 4/3 format.
PS, Music for slide shows, is to infantile for a serious camera.
I haven’t had one in my hands yet, so I can’t address what really matters, which is whether or not it just goes and gets out of the way of taking pictures, or if internal delays and endless menus make it handle only as fast as any other point-and-shoot camera.
What a waste of electrons.

3 years ago |Secret menu? It’s on page 103 of the manual in the “Customising your camera” section. That’s hardly a secret. I would have thought that Ken was a little more professional than that.

3 years ago |Ken Rockwell is one of the worst. He has no talent in photography or in writing. Yet he has a photography site/blog.
Gives me hope that anything really is possible in this world of ours.
