GF5 with lens for $299!
Yep, Panasonic is clearing their GF stocks and that’s why you keep seeing those tremendous deals. Today you can grab the GF5 with 14-42mm lens for $299 at Newegg (Click here). And while yet out of Stock you can still grab that other amazing deal…Both Sigma MFT lenses (the 30 and 19mm) for the price of one only at BHphoto (Click here). Basically for $500 you can have the GF5 with 14-45mm lens and two Sigma prime lenses! At that point plenty of EU readers are red in face for anger!
Reminder: New Black E-M5 body with 14-42mm lens for $899 at eBay US (Click here).

3 months ago |I bought that set (black gf5 plus 14-42) in Europe (Ireland), two weeks ago for 299 Euro, so even in Europe its cheap as chips:) On Amazon.co.uk You can also get Gx1 for a similar price (!) (Body only for approx 340 Euro), altough I didn`t bought the latter model because of some warning MTF tests, whch tell that GX1 makes sometimes lower resolution photos with “X” lenses and some lenses from Olympus (like the brilliant Oly 45 1.8 which I own…). For me – its not a top notch, but still a very good camera – touchy screen is nice, autofocus is zippy fast, camera is very small, so with pancake lens becomes pocketable. Of course – the overall quality of photos is slightly lower than on modern, traditional DSLRs, as well as on newer Sony Nex cameras. For small camera with better quality, colour reproduction, dynamic range and low light performance I would go for Olympus OMD E5, Pen E-PL5 or for Sony Nex 6… But – they are much, much more epensive… for 300 bucks such camera is a steal:)! Personally I reccomend it

5 months ago |So maybe this isn’t as good as the deal with the X lens but I picked one up, couldn’t pass on the price and have been looking for another body. This looks like it will be fun to work with.

5 months ago |Can anyone tell me what is the difference between GF3 and GF5 ? Sensor ???
To me , only the processor , correct me if I’m wrong in this . Very good offer too in my place , it’s tempting since the price is much much lower than the RX100 .

5 months ago |The usual incremental refinement but mainly sensor. Panny said it is of the same generation as the G5′s one, but 12MP.
This is pretty much the best GF5 review available:

The GF5 was mostly ignored by the photo outlets.

I have impression that RX100 has slightly better IQ than the GF5. But check also the Oly E-PM3.

5 months ago |All end of line cameras get heavily discounted they are in essence electronic gadgets and today’s must have gadget is tomorrow’s give away. This applies to all makers look at the start of life price compared to end of life price of just about any camera. It could be considered a bit of an issue that too high a percentage of mFT,s top sellers are end of line old models. Looking at the various sales info ( BCN Amazon etc) an awful high number of old models are the main selling mFT cameras. The CIPA numbers that reported only 42 % of new cameras shipped to Japan last year were mirror less.and 58% DSLR could be worth watching.
