3 months ago |I’d like to thank the commenters here for providing feedback when I asked in an earlier post about G5 vs. Nikon D5100. Your comments made me reconsider, and I went with the G5 when Amazon still had it at $499 for the kit (but forgot that Amazon now charges tax and missed when Adorama had the same deal; the Amazon deal was gone the next day, so I’m glad I did it!).
It just arrived, and I’m excited to try it out in the scenarios I was talking about (kids in the house = low-ish light; faster/better focusing for kids’ soccer in bright daylight; dynamic range).
I already have a 14-42 but scratched it climbing in the mountains last year (banged it on a rock after having dropped the lens cap!), a 20/1.7, and the 45-175 X tele, and I want a light kit; that’s what swayed me back, in the end. Which are the same reasons I bought my GF1 in the first place.
