11 months ago |Just found one (BODY ONLY!) from a Swiss dealer for CHF 700.– (roughly $ 700.-): http://www1.conrad.ch/scripts/wgate/zcop_ch2/~flN0YXRlPTIwNTEyNTQyMDg=?~template=PCAT_AREA_S_BROWSE&glb_user_js=Y&shop=CH2&zhmmh_lfo=&zhmmh_area_kz=&product_show_id=955861&gvlon=&p_init_ipc=X&p_page_to_display=fromoutside&~cookies=1&gclid=&cookie_n1=ch2_insert&cookie_v1=D2&cookie_d1=&cookie_p1=%2f&cookie_e1=Sat%2c+20-Aug-2011+08%3a57%3a16+GMT&scrwidth=1680
Search their site if link doesn’t work anymore.
This price will surely drop when other dealers join in, Conrad is not known as cheap.

11 months ago |Now if Adorama or bhphoto could get stock this year some time???
jeff
11 months ago |Maybe I’m wrong but didn’t BHphoto have some red models in about three weeks ago? And if so why is it taking so long to restock? Are camera companies treating their first batches as beta testing? I just can’t understand having a product available and then three weeks latter still be in pre-release mode.
any insights?

11 months ago |Their factory in Japan had a bit of damage and they’re having power supply issues since the major earthquakes and tsunami a few months back. I’m trying to wait patiently for a funky brown one.

11 months ago |Lisa even though that is an incredibly sad event I am still questioning why the major delay between one shipment and the next. Once an assembly line is in place and you can assemble enough to put on shelves across the world why would an event previous have any effect. If it’s lack of parts then wouldn’t you hold all shipments incase you needed to have different specs due to the use of different venders.(and retooling the assembly line) There are three G-3 in the local camera stores that I could purchase from but if this manufacture is treating it’s early customers as beta-testers I sure don’t want to buy until I know they have worked out all the kinks.
On a side note I think any article that rumors Panasonic cameras really needs to talk about this lack of supply, wether the company sees us early consumers as beta-testing their product at full price, wether there are problems that the company is holding off putting more units on shelves until those problems are addressed. Something does not feel right. And yes I can understand the horrible event, I can even understand waiting a whole year, I can not understand putting out some then waiting a month or more to restock the shelves on a product that is built in an assembly line production style.

11 months ago |Did the review say that the 14-54mm mk2 af’d slow? Is this true on all Panasonic bodies? It would run counter to the fact that it’s cdaf enabled and also change my buying decisions….

11 months ago |I won’t hold my breath since Bhpoto and Adorama can’t seem to get stock of the GH2 still…
Panasonic why is stock such a bad joke?
Asterix
11 months ago |Adorama still shows “Delivery scheduled to start June 2011…” for G3, what a joke. I just cancelled my pre-order with Adorama and placed an order here in Taiwan. The local dealer confirmed that G3 will be available in 2 weeks here.

11 months ago |Poor Panasonic is a victim of their own success! First it was the never-in-stock GH2, and now we are going to have the never-in-stock G3! But when look at all the reviews, and here comments like “the best micro 4/3 camera EVER!” it’s no wonder it’s so hard to find.
Panasonic is really doing a great job with their micro 4/3 line-up, I wish them all the succes in the world.
Now, if they could just get that “pro” GF model out before Christmas, and have millions ready for shipment….

I don’t know how true that is, if they were getting stock in and selling out quickly then I would agree with you, but they are not getting stock out to retailers AT ALL.. So there is little success to be victmi of, though they are turning away customers all over the place. So they are a victim of something, but not really success, more like mismanagement…
P.S. The GH2 is still hard to come by, and I don’t see many gh2 users around either.. there is just little stock available in the first place..
