G3, GF3 and Leica lens preorder status.

In one month Panasonic did announce the G3 the GF3 and the Leica 25mm lens. Time for a preorder status check!
Panasonic G3
The G3 should start worldwide shipment on June 17. The preorders are available in US at Amazon, Adorama and B&H. In Europe at Amazon.uk, Amazon.de, Amazon.fr, and worldwide on eBay.
Panasonic-Leica 25mm f/1.4 lens
The only US store I found that is accepting preorders is Adorama (Click here). Be aware that when you search for the lens on Amazon (Click here) or BHphoto (Click here) you will find the bigger and older Four Thirds version not the new M43 lens!!! And on eBay there is only one reseller accepting preorders (Click here).
I checked the biggest European stores and there is no preorder option. Worldwide shipment should start in late July. As usual Asian countries will be the first to get the lens, than European, than Canadians and some months after US citizen ![]()
P.S.: Panasonic published a couple of image samples you can find here.
Panasonic GF3
I found preorder option in US stores only at Amazon and Adorama.
If you find new links to preorders feel free to comment this post. But you should now that my designer is still working to fix the comment system. If you are an unregistered commenter once you click on the send button the website will keep loading for 30 sec and than show yu an error message. The comment is save and will be displayed but you should go back to the main page. I know this sucks, but we made a whole new installation on a the new server and the designer is a bit slow in fixing the issues
One more thing: There are new GF3 and G3 wallpapers at Panasonic’s website!

12 months ago |It seems that some of the links for preordering G3 are incorrect (showing G2 instead) ??

I think you made a mistake regarding the preorders for the G3 camera.
By clicking “Amazon.fr” link, it is only G2 camera that are displayed and by typing G3 in the search zone of “Amazon.fr” website there are no proper answer that are shown. Maybe you were willing to type “Amazon.de” instead of “.fr” ?

12 months ago |I’m getting a bit frustrated with Panasonic….I’m more than happy to buy their products at the prices that retailers are asking for….the only problem, is there is NO product. The stuff I want is out of stock, on backorder, not available, etc., and has been that way for some time now.
Now we have a situation where they are offering a lens, the new Leica 25m f.1.4, that I’d love to pre-order, but can’t go through my two favorite online retailers because there isn’t even a stinkin’ pre-order option available.
Canon and Nikon don’t have these kind of major malfunctions.
Panasonic needs to get their heads out of their collective asses and start shipping product, and getting their retailers in order, or what momentum they are getting from all this new stuff is going to fizzle fast.
Just try ordering a new GH2 from somewhere, compared to a Canon 60D, Nikon D7000, or Olympus E-5….they were all introduced at the same time, and yet one of the above (the GH2) is never in stock.
Way to run a business there, Panasonic.
I’m getting to the point why I even bother with 4/3 at all anymore. Even when I want to spend money on that stuff, there’s no stuff to be had.

12 months ago |I wonder how much of it is Panasonic misscalculation on a tight inventory rather than inability to produce enough to satisfy the demand.
One the other hand (and I hate talking bout it) the disaster in Japan made matter worse for sure.

12 months ago |So does this mean Amazon will ship me a G3 around the 17th or that’s just when they leave the factory on the way to amazon?
My delivery estimate is Jul-Aug…

I see June 17th on Amazon UK’s site, but the U.S. doesn’t show a date until after you order. My order shows a delivery estimate July 20, 2011 – September 2, 2011. Hopefully June 17th is the correct release date for the U.S.

12 months ago |There is one poster on Dpreview that stated he got his G3an hour ago and he and another stated earlier that their CCs had been charged and the second has tracking for delivery tomorrow–from Panasonic USA EPP. Hope that’s so as mine is coming from same source though no CCs charged yet. I did ask for pics to prove LOL.

12 months ago |Anyone thing the release of the GF3 makes the GF2 seem like a really good deal? The GF3 is only slightly smaller than the GF2, and the GF2 seems to have better controls and ergonomics, which is ironic since those were the main complaints of the GF2 when first released. The GF2 can be had for under $350 with the 14-42mm lens on Panasonic’s EPP site. If someone is looking for a compact easy to use camera with good quality, I would point them towards the GF2. It’s even cheaper than the LX5.

12 months ago |In regards to B&H Photo…
They, at one time, had June delivery dates listed on their page of Panasonic G3′s. They still list them, but there’s no option for pre-order:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt=panasonic+g3&N=0&InitialSearch=yes
Kinda makes me wonder if even B&H is getting fed-up with Panasonic’s vaporware. I wouldn’t be surprised if they go to a process where they will only sell what they really have available, rather than rely on Panny’s unreliable shipping and delivery. That’s what they did with the old 4/3 25mm: when they were in stock, you bought one, otherwise you were S.O.L.
If Panasonic still has unresolved issues regarding the tsunami/earthquake, then they better NOT be releasing new product like the G3 and GF3 –that only makes a bad situation worst. Common sense dictates that you get things together first, then, once everything is “fixed”, then you can release all the new product you want.
But there is certainly something screwy going on with that company…the fact that they released the new micro 4/3 25mm without an official price tag does not inspire confidence.
Let’s just hope Olympus is on the ball when it’s there turn later this June. If they have their act together, and I believe they will, you will be able to go to Adorama / Amazon / B&H and pre-order product within 24 hours of it being introduced, just like with Canon and Nikon.

12 months ago |Adorama doesn’t even have Panasonic M4/3 cameras on display! (I couldn’t find them at least)
Note that Nikon had a hard time delivering the D7000, which doesn’t excuse Panasonic for the GH2 debacle. It took me several weeks of concerted hunting to get a GH2. Luckily lenses were easy to get. It shouldn’t be like that! I think Panasonic may have been blindsided by demand, may have had production issues, or BOTH (most likely).

12 months ago |It’s hard to know exactly what happened with the GH1 shortage in the US. I’m going with the theory that there weren’t enough to go around and Panny priortized other regions like Europe where margins are higher.

12 months ago |Well, at least B&H now has a page for the new Leica 25mm:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/768816-REG/Panasonic_H_X025_LEICA_DG_SUMMILUX_25mm_F1_4.html
But no pre-ordering yet, nor is there even a picture of the lens.
Price: $599.95 USD
