UPDATED-> Fuji employees denies Fuji making m43 camera.
I received an email from an anonymous sender. He had a small talk with a Fuji employee and the Fuji man denied that they will release a m43 camera soon.
I haven’t classified this as rumor. Fuji employee will never tell you when and if a new camera is coming!
I post you the email text:
“I was just at the Henry’s photographic show in Toronto today and was speaking with one of the employees at the Fuji booth. I asked him about Fuji making a m43 camera and he said that they are part of the consortium (which we already know), but he said that there is no product ready or even near ready at this time. Does not sound like Fuji will have anything soon for m43; assuming his info. is correct.
I also spoke with someone at the Sony booth and they said that a major announcement to the product line will be made in 3 months. They would not confirm or deny if it would be a mirrorless, interchangable lens camera.”

UPDATE: Our trusted sources still do confirm Fuji will join MicroFourThirds (probably with the release of a new camera by early 2010).

Not quite true. At PMA Australia this year I had a Fuji employee confirm that the S100fs was being replaced — weeks ahead of its formal announcement.

3 years ago |The sort of employee that gets sent to things like the Henry’s shows are generally the last people to know anything about product. They’re low-level sales and marketing people for the regional sales organization. They simply don’t have the inside knowledge that even the PMA reps have.
The Henry’s show is a 3-day sale for Henry’s combined with some low-level manufacturers reps, it’s not a proper show at all and the quality of manufacturers reps that show generally reflects that, especially for Fuji which really only sells consumer-grade stuff through Henrys (Nikon and Canon will send some higher-up reps if they have a recent announcement).

3 years ago |IIRC, the 4/3s and m4/3s consortium are different. Anyone could join 4/3s, but to join m4/3s you have to actually release a product. I’d think you could expect to see a product release from anyone in the m4/3s group. Is there an official list of members somewhere? I might very wrong on this too.

this news item seems to be a precaution measure on this site’s part,
they posted too many fuji 4/3rd rumors and fear for if they turn out to
be false, so they post a counter rumor, so that whatever happens,
they can say: “we told you about it”.
