Philip Bloom tested the new secret external mic for the GH2: “I took the UK pre-production GH2 with me along with the Voigtlander 25mm f.95 and a brand new DSLR mic which I can’t say exactly what it is just yet, except it’s bloody awesome as you will hear. It was plugged straight into the GH2 (there are meters on the LCD for audio levels and manual control but no headphone jack) and I recorded most of the vox pops in the noisiest part of the club and you can still hear them. Amazing! As soon as I can blog about this new mic I will. It is going to be a DSLR must have.”
Philip hopes Panasonic will add 25p on the european GH2 model. And for him one of the most amazing features is the 1080p 1:1 cropping mode. And I could not agree more!

2 years ago |a bit strange it doesn’t have a headphone socket so doesn’t make use of the audio levels or manual controls, I use the Azden WMS-Pro with my GH1 which does have a headphone socket

This website speaks to a great group of people and delivers many different news. If you are not interested in some of them just skip it and enjoy your Sunday taking photos. That’s more important than reading 43rumors

2 years ago |This is not a GH2 specific mic. It is a new shotgun mic with a 3.5mm jack. Apart from the size of the jack being to big for the GH2 it is the perfect mic for it. Absolutely stellar quality as you can hear.
