The Rumor:
According to our sources Panasonic will soon launch the new Panasonic LX3
We do not have any other certain details. We will publish more infos as soon as we receive some reliable infos from our sources. We also don’t know now if the Panasonic G1
What do we mean with “FT5″ ?
The rumor has been qualified as a “FT5″ rumor. This means that it comes from our best sources (There is a 90% chance to see the rumor come true). As you know we are very reliable with our “FT5″ rumors and only few times we were completely wrong (And again sorry for that, but we learned from our mistakes!).
Who is 43rumors?

It’s time to stop some of this nonsense. The GH1 is the G1 update!
If anything gets updated it will be the GH1.
Unless there is an incredible low yield in the GH1 sensor it makes absolutely no sense to produce an inferior camera for the same cost.

3 years ago |You’re right, I didn’t know about LX3, but the new Pana m43 is being predicted since long time ago. And just one month before, we don’t have any details! :’(
I don’t think it will be a “cheap” m43. GF1 is selling well, and G1 was cheaper. A new model between GF1 and GH1 would make sense, but if you sell GH1 body only (or with a cheap lens), it’s again a nonsense.
Also, as many people says, the GH1 is the successor of the G1. So, a new GH2 would be better.
GF1 – “cheap”
GH1 – midle price point (with cheap lenses, without the 14-140)
GH2 – expensive
But, ey! I don’t have any sources like you, so Pana might surprise me

That’s just my opinion but I believe a cheap M4/3 would sell like a hot cake. And you would create a new group of affiliates which one day could make the jump and buy a more expensive m4/3 camera. If I would be in charge at Panasonic or Olympus I would quickly unveil a very cheap m4/3 and a new High-End m4/3.

G-something is just a name. Whether or not they put a H or not is irrelevant. Besides, no one expect a newer model without some kind of HD video.
What ever the name, for all I care, as long as I get a similar form factor with an over sized sensor having cranked up performance. DR, ISO, resolution, etc…

Personally, I’m waiting for a cheap ~$500 m4/3 body before I ever upgrade from the LX3.
(unless they do something awesome like stick a 4/3 sensor in a slightly larger LX3)

3 years ago |That would be my ticket back to panasonic: an LX3 like lens (equivalent to 20-24mm to something around 60mm) with an m4/3 sensor, fast autofocus and reasonable price. Better noise performance and dynamic range would be nice too
I wouldn’t mind not having video, but I guess this is out of the question these days.

3 years ago |I don’t get this idea of 3 camera lines. The G1 and GH1 were very similar cameras. I think Pany has just 2 lines:
- big cameras: G1/GH1
- small cams: GF1.
A replacement for the “G1″ would be just another big m43-camera. After all, there aren’t *that* many differences between G1 and GH1.
If there are is a point for 3 lines, I haven’t seen it yet. Please enlighten me

3 years ago |would love to see a new GF2 that comes with the image-stabilizer & a brand new design of the camera in the 70s…… & possible to hit the ISO as 6400 with out making too much noise when i blow up the photos.
