(FT5) No Panasonic lens announcement in May (Deleted because of the disaster in Japan?)
As you know Panasonic plans to release the 25mm f/1.4 Micro Four Thirds lens and probably also the OIS version of the current 7-14mm lens. But according to our sources the lenses will not be announced along the new Panasonic G3 (mid May). Our source told us that we can expect those new lenses in to be announced in July-August only. This might has to do with the recent Tsunami-Earthquake-Fukushima disaster. Even if Panasonic plants were not damaged the problem is the lack of continuing energy supply and issues with the raw material importation. In general most Japanese companies are planning to produce in other Asian countries but this will not happen from today to tomorrow. It needs a lot of time. I am in contact with many European and American dealers and they all do confirm that Japanese product supply shortage will hit the stores by end of April. And it’s impossible for them to know when they can buy new stocks of cameras and lenses. That’s why we can expect some price increase too! If you plan to buy some lens or camera I suggest you to not wait to much time.
The Panasonic G3 introduction has been confirmed but a wonder when it will be available for worldwide shipment. I also got info about a possible Olympus product announcement delay. I will post more about that soon. Stay tuned on 43rumors!
UPDATE: The news is based on rumors and speculations. Panasonic officially didn’t announce any delay or production issue. Hope that’s clear that we are a rumors website.

2 years ago |This makes me think…can we (supporters of Japanese products) here on this website do something substantial to help the people of Japan who were effected by this tragedy? Maybe each put something up on ebay that we aren’t using and donate the funds to a pool to help the people there rebuild. If a lot of people did something small it could amount to something substantial to provide some meaningful relief.
Just a thought.
(BTW…I am the biggest camera addict I know-that is why I love this site-… but the Japanese people in these areas need help…many of their lives have been totally wiped out.)
Lens and camera delays should be a sidebar.

that no big firm likes it, when somebody is telling WRONG stock information about them.
it could be VERY expensive for you and in some countries you going to jail for wrong business information.

2 years ago |This a rumor website. There is no official statement or Panasonic news. But honestly I received so many mails talking about production issues for most japanese companies that I guess soon you will see the effects of the shortages.

stock manipulation is a big thing in all countries i know.
you going to court for it, and there you cannot say
“huuuh i didn´t know” or “i was just speculating”.

if somebody has pana stocks und he loses money, he can go to court und say, 43rumors startet wrong informations.
so the admin would say “hey, i just spekulate” or “well it is just a rumor site”
the judge would say:” no, this is active wrong information”
that is why i WARN the admin.
there are special laws against wrong informations.
and the admin could get big problems.

2 years ago |steven a., you are misinterpreting the SEC laws and also their use of “speculation”. You are not allowed to create false speculation “FOR THE PURPOSES OF” manipulating stock prices. The SEC has to then prove that manipulation was the intent. It is certainly okay for people, blogs, websites, etc… to list rumors (even far out rumors like “my sources say Panasonic is going out of business tomorrow”). Companies come out all the time to clarify false rumors if they are big enough, but they certainly don’t have the legal backing to sue even if their stock prices drop.
