(FT5) UPDATED! New Olympus (FourThirds?) camera/s coming early April!
Did you really believe that now that PMA is finshed you (and I) could finally take a break from rumors until Photokina in September? 
I was just told that Olympus
UPDATE: FT2: A new unreliable source told me there will be a new FourThirds camera on April 2th. Could be the new E-460…
I have no “confirmed” details about the camera but as soon as I have some I will let you know!

2 years ago |The quality of many rumors posted on 43rumors in recent months has gone down as we are expected to get excited when nothing is known about even what type of camera it is or its specifications, only that “something” is coming soon? And what is the definition of “soon”? It that is all it is then don’t see it merits more than a FT3 at very best. There has been plenty of speculation of what 4/3rds model this is likely to be so why not state it? If you know something why not just state it as a low end rumor and don’t wait indefinitely for confirmation otherwise you may be left out of the picture before the manufacture makes their release as occured in the recent G2 and G10 entries?

2 years ago |I try and be forgiving about rumors. But this? Seriously? “Olympus will release a camera soon!” No kidding, huh? You know, seeing as how they are IN THE CAMERA BUSINESS and all. “We have no details at all!” Then the point of this was…? OTOH, I guess I can’t argue with the rating of FT5, since it’s almost undeniably true.

First, I really don’t know what kind of camera is coming. Second when I say “soon” that means it will come in the next few weeks. Don, when you say “The quality of many rumors posted on 43rumors in recent months has gone down” you have to tell me why. I keep reading this kind of statements since we exist. Please argument rationally and explain me what you exactly don’t like. I am used to get crtizised and honestly I need you to become better. So please let me know how to improove.

2 years ago |I was asking myself the same question. The rumors here are pretty much dead on – not always, but most of the time – which is fantastic for a RUMOR website. This isn’t a news site. However, to be honest, the guys here are so good, it can feel like a news site – - but, again, at the end of the day, it’s just a rumor mill gabbing about cameras.

Don: You may want to check back through the Archives. 43rumors.com is the one who broke the name of the G2 and G10 (among other things). They were all over that.

2 years ago |I think that guys are just bored to get rumors that only state that something is coming. We are so hungry to hear specs!
I would recommend that new camera rumors could be released only after you have some specs or details available. That is what makes rumors so interesting.

2 years ago |Maybe some of the manufacturer representatives’ quotes should be kept in a separate place of the site. For example, on April 2nd is when we will find out if “Olympus 4/3rds range will be completely mirrorless in two years time”.

2 years ago |Hi, admin! Thanks for taking our issues seriously. I probably came off way harsher than I really intended, so I apologize for that. I’m just frustrated by the complete lack of details in this post. We want something to sink our teeth into, even if it’s just a little bit! Even the next post is much better (about the next camera being an entry-level model) so it really doesn’t take that much to satisfy us.
And even if I do complain, this is still my favorite site to come to for 4/3 news!

2 years ago |Hi, admin! I should have added to my post what I do like and have appreciated about 43rumors. Ever since your web site started up over a year ago I have been a very frequent visitor eager to get most often the first news of an upcoming cameras without having to wade thru hundreds of posts looking for hints. However a little less emphasis on advertising would be appreciated.
I especially like it when you publish pictures or sketches of conceptual cameras and their predicted specifications as it opens our eyes to what is possible and to think outside the box.
Your publication of recent Pany patent filings and links to them have been most interesting and revealing of what may come. Also the links to other rumor sites covering other manufacturers is very useful and interesting as they all relate to each other.
I know some people seem to distrust any “rumor” until the real thing actually arrives. I think generally there is a lot more to it as many are related to prototypes that have or are being developed but at least give an insite of what the manufacturers are working on. Usually it is not the content that is off base but when the product is delivered which is problematic.
So congradulations for your good and hard work.

2 years ago |AS I see previous events I think Olympus has a big interest in marketing in Korea. So, I expect I can see new Olympus camera in Seoul International camera show .(May 1st)
And I hope E-3 sucessor will come in this camera show.

It is April 6th. So far nothing about a new camera but honestly even if it’s a new 460 – unless it has a Revolutionary New Sensor how is this a big news? We already have a bunch of small cameras. 410/420/450/510/520/600/620.
I am using Oly a long long time ago since the 2100UZ came out (8080,510,e30) but at this point I would like an OLY camera what is capable of LOWer noise levels than the e3.
I prefer the IS and the swiveling LCD on my e30, also I like the lens adjustment option which is VERY useful but I would also prefer weather sealing as I live near the beach (sand, fog, mist all kinds of moisture)
I find my e30 better than the e3 – other than the seal – but the noise is just too much.
So from here I can go with the e3 and travel back in time or spend 2x as much on Canikon and carry 2x as much weight only not to have the LCD and IS (Actually I can live without the IS).
Or I wait and see the days/weeks/months/years slowly passing by….
Oly should at least announce that yes, we are working on the e5 and it is coming out in 2010/11/12 1-4th quarter .
Keeping their customers guessing is not the best way to keep them.
However if it comes after 2012 4th quearter I don’t think I’ll need one anyway
. Maybe they just want to wait and see if it worth for them to invest any further..

You have to wonder how commited Olympus is to 43rds considering how focused they have been on m43rds instead. Maybe there’ll be something new at Photokina.
