(FT4) The E-3 successor definitely has a FourThirds mount! And new FourThirds lenses are coming?
That’s another good day for rumors!
One of my best sources told me the E-3 successor will have the normal FourThirds mount. The crazy rumor we posted yesterday is really crazy
FT3 -> And there is a chance you will see new FourThirds lenses…I heard something about new primes

3 years ago |I read speculation on dpreview that they might actually modify the mount to add the additional contacts the Micro Four Thirds mount has. This would allow any new lenses to be designed for CDAF from the start and be fully functional on Micro Four Thirds (with a new adapter, of course) while retaining backwards compatibility with existing Four Thirds lenses.
I think this makes decent sense.

… and with new CDAF connectors of course. And why not an upgrade of the 50mm with SWD motor and focus limiter.
12mm,24mm, 100mm. All f/2…
We can only dream and maybe some of it will become real!

3 years ago |New prime lenses that sounds really good. Olympus are famed for their Zuiko Digital lenses so introducing new High Grade lenses or Super High Grade ones will indicate that Four Thirds System is still alive. The E-System greatly needs more genuine (Olympus) options for fast primes. Make it compact, bright and fast (SWD)
.

Yes, upgraded 50mm Zuiko Digital would be best AF digital lens ever made
. I hope for 25mm for the beginning.

3 years ago |There is a lack of fast wide angle prime. A 50mm f1.4 it’s good, but with the x2 factor, it’s like a 100mm
A 14mm f2 or maybe a f2.8 like the future panasonic pleeease.
It’s what i really hate in all those dslr : the lack of wide angle. With those stupide x1.5 x1.6 or worse : the infamous x2 factor ;( all wide angle become ‘not so wide’.
Currently, i saw only pana with it’s future 14mm f2.8. There is some wide lens at Nikon, pentax and Canon, but it’s for FULL FRAME, and a 18mm (28mm equiv) is consider to be a very wide angle and usually it’s a f4 max aperture, and they are costly.

3 years ago |my vote goes to a 50mm MKII… SWD, CDAF and maybe a switchable macro mode?
Marcel
3 years ago |Yes, a 50mm MKII with a faster focus would be awesome!
