Don't worry David for every person like you there is someone like me who will move to Panasonic dumping their large Canon camera. I have no problem buying Panasonic battery. Leave the door open on the way out as I am coming in to the Panasonic fold.

>The day Panasonic decided to fix their cameras so that they would only work with Panasonic batteries was the same day Panasonic decided they never >wanted to get any money from me. I don’t care if they make my ‘perfect’ camera. I will never buy one of their cameras and just for extra laughs, I will never buy >any of their batteries either.

All in all, how have these companies compared historically when it comes to final image quality? I have had a Panasonic video camera, and while it's excellent in daylight, the colors wash out as light gets more and more scarce. The images I've seen from the E-P1 seem to hold up better in the color quality department. I know I am just asking for speculation, but please help me out. Is Panasonic worth the wait, or comparable at best? Again, as far as image quality only, the viewfinder, flash etc parts are much easier to sort out as a matter of preference.

PS... this is perfect timing, I just placed my E-P1 order recently! :)
