I guess the iris of a bigger lens would make even more noise so still noting for me with the gh2. except maybe with the option of not using iris at all and exposing wide open, which I find acceptable. as for the heat, things might be worse, as this means a lot more noise in the images. well, my g11 has some kind of a shutter, you could say it is the iris closing just before exposing and it still makes some noise, making it useless for indoors sound recording.
