(FT2) Next Panasonic MFT camera to support SDXC cards?

Share

We received first rumors about the next Panasonic MicroFourThirds camera. One of the most possible new features will be the SDXC support. This are fast and high capacity cards. You can read more about this cards by clicking here: CNET (Toshiba recently released the first SDXC card). This will allow Panasonic to have a better video compression rate on the next MFT camera ….maybe 24MB/S ???

The SDXC support is the minimum that all new camera will be doing…. It’s a shame that a new camera don’t support SDXC : the definition standard is old now and the 32 GB limit of the SDHC is too poor for the video and the ever more number of pixel of the camera….

I’ve forgotten that SCXC ever existed in a week after the announcement…..thanks for remindingME 😀

    Radis2, you make a mistake.

The Toshiba announcement is just a thoshiba communication, not the définition and the acceptation of the standard by the SD consortium.

The définition of the SDXC standard is very old (“very” for the world of computing : perhaps 8 or more months).

Wow, now SD Cards will almost be as useful as CF were a year ago . . . fancy that.

Don’t get too excited. So far the camera is vaporware and Panasonic will probably fix it so only their cards will work with it!

Could this be the next Panasonic M43 camera? GF1

Friend linked me this site, not sure where he picked it up from.

These features here seem to be more interesting than which type of SD cards can be used…

MD, thank you for you very interesting link, but this is not the next LX4/5 : this is the next micro43 Panasonic :-))).
It seems very very good and my choice will be between thi new micor43 Panasonic and the next LX4 Panasonic (probably the next LX4 if it is very smaller than the micro43).

  • MD

Sure it (could be) the next MFT. That’s why I posted this link here, because this particulat “rumour” deals with SDXC and next Pana MFT
