Leica has announced it's doing away with the R cameras and designing an 135 sized sensor camera with an EVF that can use existing R-lenses and likely new smaller lenses with it to come. It makes more sense then M lenses I think. I doubt Leica will be working with Panasonic to pursue Micro 4/3s. Avoiding the crowded DSLR market, it's an interesting strategy. The M8/M9, new mirrorless 135 sized camera and S2 make an interesting range of cameras with different feature sets in each line.

In good light the EVF in the G1 is superior to any OVF for focusing. Effectively no lag. IN poor light lag will start to show up, but the focus accuracy remains.
