For US/Canada readers: How to buy the GH2 at Digitalrev (Hong Kong)

Our US/Canda readers are very frustrated because the GH2 isn’t in Stock at Amazon US, Adorama and BHphoto. That’s why the well know online store Digitalrev contacted me. They wanted you to know that they have the GH2 in Stock (Click here) and you can order it right now. They ship it to US and Canada too! Here is the text they wrote to me:
“Since each state in the US has different tax system, the import handling cannot be pre-applied for US customers. Therefore, the tax will be applied when the camera imported to the specific state. We will provide a photocopied version of the English menu as the cameras are considered as grey import that come with non-English manual, such as Japanese or Chinese. The camera itself would be in English or if just in case, the manual (the booklet) will tell how to change it into English.”

No, we Canadians are frustrated because Henrys, Vistek, Aden Camera, etc… don’t have it in stock. We don’t buy from Amazon US, Adorama, BHphoto.
If you want us Canadians to click on your click-throughs, get proper Canadian retail links.

2 years ago |Actually I know that Henry’s has stock on the GH2 cause i saw them in the downtown store this weekend. I have also seen them recently at Sig electronics and Aden. BJ Photo in Waterloo also had stock last weekend. They actually dont seem to be as hard to find up here as in the US at least around the Toronto area

2 years ago |No I agree the prices for now have been reasonable. Mostly because we are on par with the US dollar. But I’ve been on Henrys preorder list for GH2 BODY since the beginning of Dec… Still nothing..

I ordered a gf2 on feb 1 and got a delivery date of feb 7
never got a ship confirmation
when I contacted customer support for an update they said because of chinese new year they would not ship til the 7th, and they would rush it so it would arrive by mid week.
on the 7th still no update, contacted again, now they say they won’t be in stock until friday feb 11th, and there’s no guarantee that they will ship this week.
unlike adorama and other big online stores they processed my payment right away instead of waiting until they actually have the item in stock. seems a little sketchy.
