2 years ago |After reading this post 3 hours ago, I ordered from Amazon (fulfilled by Adorama) when it said it was in stock, but just now I just got an email telling me it’s not in stock and I’ll be waiting.
Oh well! Looks like many of us jumped on it at the same time. Bummer, I can’t believe there’s such a shortage of these cameras.
The GH2 and Nikon’s D7000 are both taking quite a long time to get to market. Perhaps camera manufactures should put a cork in their mouths and start announcing their cameras when they’re actually capable of selling them to people. Seriously!

2 years ago |I ordered a black Panasonic GH2 with 14-42mm lens yesterday night on Adorama website. I just called them a few minutes ago and although their store is closed today, the sales department is accepting calls. They did confirm that my order was successful and I should receive tomorrow a tracking number. Great!!!

2 years ago |Just called Adorama, only 3 employees made it in to take phone calls. My pre order placed 12/15 has been confirmed as fulfilled, should be shipping either today or tomorrow, depending if UPS can make it through the snow. Helen, above, also confirmed that the store is open today. I tried to order the camera over the phone and go into the store to pick it up today, but the phone rep said that there are no cameras available in the store, they are trying to fulfill pre orders first.
Can’t wait!

2 years ago |UPS and most major carriers will be unable to pick up and deliver any shipments today due to the travel conditions which are currently hazardous, with poor visibility due to blowing snow, plus a danger of strong winds up to 50 mph bringing down power lines and tree limbs.
We are currently asking customers to please allow for a one day delay to receive your order. (And hoping that it will improve tomorrow!)

2 years ago |This might be a little off subject. I’m looking to purchase the G2, been saving for this for awhile.Trying to get back into this. I do wonder if the price on this is going to drop, or is Panasonic going to replace this. On their website they don’t list the price for the G10 so are they going to replace these 2 cameras. Would like to know since this will be my camera for a few years. Any help you guys can give would be great.

2 years ago |Saw it was available from Adorama last night. I live in New York, called Adorama this morning. They opened a couple of hours late because of the snow storm. There’s one scumbag trying to sell one on Amazon for $2500!
I was hoping I could just go to the store and buy one directly. They said they had had a few units in the warehouse, none in the store, but sold out right away. They expect more next week.
I’m leaving for Costa Rica on Friday and wanted it for the trip!
If I could also get a Voightländer Nokton 25mm, that would be gravy!

2 years ago |Rich, the Panasonic G10 has been discontinued. The Panasonic G2 is In Stock in Adorama and B&H Photo Video. Don’t know if it will be replaced soon or if price will go down soon.

2 years ago |Thanks…Since I’m just getting back into photography. I could get the G2 lens kit for $525 plus tax or get the body only GH2 for $675. What do you think would be the better way to go?

2 years ago |GH2. For not that much more you’re getting a much better camera, both stills and video. If there was a huge price difference between the two, then the question is whether video is worth it to you. If not, go with G2. If you think video could/would be handy, plus better stills than the G2, then go with the GH2 and shell out the extra dough (I’m only assuming, I don’t know the specs of the G2, but I’m guessing it’s not as sweet as the GH2).
I’m coming from both stills and video, so video is really important to what I do, thus I’m getting the GH2.
I just noticed that you quoted the GH2 body only for $675, which I think is incorrect. At the Panasonic store, which is the only place in North America selling a body only kit, is selling it for $900. Not sure if you found that someplace and if so, tell me! That’s a larger price difference, so then you’ll have to decide what you intend to do with it.

2 years ago |Get the 14-140 lens if you can afford to. It’s a much better lens than the 14-42, which have gotten mediocre marks. It’s got OIS, and it’s silent during focusing while movie recording, and has better IQ. If you can’t afford it, then the 14-42 will suffice, but you’ll wish later you had a longer zoom with your kit.

2 years ago |Yes, GH2 is the way to go. I already ordered mine. I ordered it with the 14-42mm lens because I already have the 14-140mm lens which I recommend for its greater reach (zoom) and is silent during movie recording. I would have bought the GH2 body only but Panasonic Direct does not ship to where I live.

2 years ago |If the east coast vendors can’t even get to work (because of the white stuff), then who’s to say if there really is a GH2 in stock or not. Add to that Panasonic’s incessant delays when the weather was good, the uncertainty grows. And finally, the Chinese worker, Wei Jianguo, who makes the GH2 one at a time, took a few days off to help his comrades on the farm. Duh, should I just get a Sony?

2 years ago |Finally got them through the direct sales line in America. Had to wait 30 mins. Got the sales supervisor to expedite the order to overnight shipping. thats the least they can do. Initially they insisted I pay for expedite shipping. Interestingly enough, the sales rep told me that Panasonic direct has a lower shipping priority than retailers. So they get stock first.

2 years ago |Well, I was finally able to order a sliver gh2 with 14-42 from Adorama. Dunno if those folks are out of the snow yet, but the website showed availability so I snagged it with every penny I had. Ramen noodles for new years eve and beyond!

2 years ago |yup, just got my black GH2 14-42 from adorama. cheers everyone! ex tele conv is super sweet! @Rich – if i were you, go all the way and get the 14-140. the ex tele conv option is only available in movie mode on that lens. i’m having so much fun with it.
