Everything about Senko/Navitron/Yakumo

February 15, 2010 |The spec sheet for the Senko lens http://www.senkoadl.com/Factory/VFA5095H.pdf says that it’s designed to cover 1″ video format–which is a 16mm image circle. Four Thirds is 21.6mm.
In the Flickr samples you can see obvious vignetting.

February 15, 2010 |let’s try to be a little realistic….. they are video/cine lenses, and extremely cheap considering the 0.95 aperture.
if we want crisp images, we have to stick with pricey Leica glasses
there’s a reason why Leica superfast lenses are so outrageously expensive

February 15, 2010 |As long as the center is sharp enough, there is creative use for those lenses. I don’t care about soft corners, those are meant to be used wide open.
My major worry is how far you can focus before reaching infinity. So far, my experience with C lenses has not been terrific.

Some people say that Voightlander Nokton F1.2/F1.1 lenses sometimes beat Noctilux. And the cos 10 times less.

February 16, 2010 |ininity focus is no problem for c-mount lenses *if* you choose right lens. Some of them needs machining (not so complicated), only small amount of them are just impossible to machine.
There is a number of c-mount 50/0.95 lenses that do cover 4/3 sensor.
And about crispnes: my 25/0.95 schneider-kreuznach is as crisp as pana 20/1.7 – I really don’t demand more of lens of that speed & price
