9 months ago |Those lenses are very different.
The X 14-42mm lens is an ultra compact lens with power zoom, oriented towards users that want a compact package that can zoom during video capture.
The 12-36mm lens, on the other hand, is more of a traditional pro spec normal zoom for photo use. It can of course also be used for video, and will probably be a “standard zoom lens” for the AG-AF 100 camcorder.

9 months ago |Looks like the Amazon link to “Black 45-175mm X lens” is bad; the page actually refers to the 14-42mm lens (though until recently, the page showed a *picture* of the 45-175).
Also, the page with the “Silver 45-175mm X lens” shows a picture of the 14-42! Seems like Amazon has mixed things up a little…
In fact, I haven’t found the black 45-175 at all – some help, anyone?

9 months ago |I’m not surprised to see the very positive sales for the pancake 14-42 and I expect demand from both Pany and Oly m4/3 owners may quickly exceed the supply, but I hope not.
To make the most of this lens Pany should in my opinion not only bundle it as now done with the GF3X but also have a GF2X and offer these same cameras with GFS models bundled with the 20/1.7 as an alternative. According to leaked info Pany will offer both the 25/1.4 and a 14-42 with the coming GF7 and I would bet that is the X version for the zoom.
Interesting looking at the Amazon lens sales figures that it is that small primes, older kit zoom and the tele lenses that are gathering the most attention so not surprising that Pany is paying so much attention to both the kit zooms and the tele ones. In contrast the other exotic lenses that so many on this forum keep clamoring for ie the WA zooms, macro lenses, 3D lenses, fisheye, etc are nowhere to be seen?
