E-P1 user experience
A lot of people are trying out the E-P1 at various Olympus events. And normally they share their experiences in various Olympus fora.
One of them is Chris who had the chance to play with the E-P1 in Osaka. Read his post on dpreview:

4 years ago |Real life experience of the camera always matter. It’s interesting that white finish looks better than silver one (white model is more resistant to scratches and much less shiny – so better for street/document photography). Fortunately the AF is fast which is good. In my opinion, the E-P1 is quite good start for Olympus new Digital PEN series, but what it needs is a real feedback from users and photographers. The lack of essential things such a built-in viewfinder, flash and serious black colour finish are the reasons why I don’t buy a bit overpiced E-P1. But, please, this is just my opinion, if you love this camera go for it! It’s better taking pictures than waiting for an ideal future camera.
What I expect from E-P2 (or Panasonic compact mFT model):
- image quality similar or better than E-P1;
- built-in viewfinder in the left end of camera rear body with infos like DSLRs have (AF confirmation, aperture, shutter speed…) with respect to keeping the camera small – optical type of VF (with parallax compensation frame, automatically zoomed with lens within the range 28-90 on 35mm film);
- resistant, fully black body;
- dials for ISO and shutter speed (like in analog era);
- more prime lenses (unlike collapsible zooms) at least f2.8 (black painted);
- reasonably priced (unlike E-P1).
That’s all. What do you think? Help Olympus for the next camera

4 years ago |What I expect we’ll see in the next E-P2, circa late 2010, is:
An OLED screen for easy daylight viewing.
A tiny cell-phone-sized flash in the corner for emergencies.
Price holding steady due to cost of OLED.
No viewfinder.
Lens: 17mm 2.8 replaced by 14mm 2.8
Beige grip on white model replaced by red or yellow grip (a brighter color).
I also expect they’ll up the ratio of white to silver models (I believe they produced more silver, but reviewers seem to be trending towards preferring the white after they see it in person).
(no viewfinder — I expect that a viewfinder is being saved for the bulkier, coming-later-in-2009 m3/4, not for the Pen series — the Pen series imo is for people who aren’t used to a viewfinder and wouldn’t use it even if it were there).
