12 months ago |Must be some shipments hitting retailers here in the USA as we speak as Amazon is showing the Silver one with 12-50 shipping June 21st now. That’s soon enough they may have them in hand, but need to get them to distribution centers or something before they can actually ship.

Hmm
12 months ago |What about the body-only silver ones? When are those shipping? Pre-ordered mine in april and still no word from Amazon.

12 months ago |Yesterday I was able to play around with the E-M5 for a few minutes here in Seoul. I never gave it much thought as a replacement for my trusted GF1 as I just didn’t feel the need, but that E-M5 sure feels amazing. It’s mighty tiny even with its slightly awkward looking lens. I don’t get that long kit lens though. I’d stick a pancake on it. Or maybe that lovely 12mm.

12 months ago |Is it really worth it to get the 12-50mm kit ? I have a few primes already, including Oly 12mm. I figure the added value would be 14-42mm kit, since it’s just $100 more than the body-only.

12 months ago |It is worth it for the kit price for its versatile ability. If you want to travel light with just the clip on flash & spare batteries (ha!, that’s funny
, all you have to do is find one
), it covers the range from 12-50 quite nicely with it becoming a little softer at 50mm & just fine for video & close up work on a damp, rainy day. For better IQ I would use my 4/3′s 14-54 for its larger aperture & sharper images (I’ve only had my MMF-3 for two days & would have used it the day before for my daughters graduation). In Australia the RRP is $500 for the lens & in the kit it is only $300 more than the body, so it is worth having at that price.
