MicroFourThirds camera+lens Poll closed: Results

After 1,198 unique votes we closed the MicroFourThirds poll. What have we learned from it?

1) People wants the camera as compact as possible! Only a small percentage of voters preferrs zooms (11%).
2) People wants fast lenses! The is the clear winner of the poll (67% voted for the lens!)!
3) The Olympus and the are on par. Both received more or less the same votes (54% voted for the E-P1 and 46% for the GF1).
4) 9% E-P1/GF1 owners do use Leica lenses on their camera.

Something unexpected? I hope....

(FT4) UPDATED-> Olympus next MFT camera to be announced late November/early December

Dear readers,

since I am back from my journey in Asia I am working on collecting new rumors. One month ago photorumors posted a rumor saying the E-P2 could probably be unveiled on October 31. Our sources confirmed us that there will be a second MFT camera from Olympus before the end of the year, but never confirmed the October date (we received two confirmations from unknown sources). Since then we haven’t found any important leaks. And now we only have 10 days left to go. This made us suspicious and finally two very trusted sources told us that the next MicroFourThirds camera is going to be announced later, probably late November early December.

The Rumors summary we posted yesterday remains correct but we have to add the high probable rumor that the next MFT is going to be announced later this year.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: One trusted source wrote us now saying there will be a new Olympus announcement on October 31.

My speculation, E-3 successor late October and MFT camera in December?

cheers

Ale

Rumors summary

Good morning!

Before I start to post new rumors I thought it will be a good idea to list all rumors we recently have collected from trusted sources only!

1)  Olympus will soon announce the next MicroFourThirds camera. It should be very similar to the E-P1. It can use an external viewfinder. No new lenses are expected.

2) The E-3 successor will not be announced now (maybe early 2010). The E-5 will not be an “upgraded” E-3. It will be a completely new camera.

3) Two trusted sources do confirm Fuji is close to announce a new MicroFourThirds camera (expected in early 2010)

4) No more new Panasonic camera/lenses this year

Keep in mind that we are a rumor site, this are not official Olympus-Panasonic-Fuji news. A “rumor” is “a statement or report current without known authority for its truth
