Chris:I made another car video with the GH5 @ 180FPS. This time it is a Dodge Challenger SRT presented in the small showroom of an importer of US muscle cars here in Germany. Five shots were made with the support of my Kessler cineslider, all others are handheld. Thanks for watching and feedback! https://www.facebook.com/screendepartment/videos/1455271864560756/

Announced: Lensbaby 85mm f/1.6 MFT lens

Lensbaby announced the new Velvet 85mm f/1.6 lens. You can preorder it for $499 at Adorama and BHphoto.

There is a review on Adorma written by Dan Mandell:

I could justify buying it simply because of its increased situational versatility. While you have the option to go full artsy with this lens, you can dial it down or season to taste if you prefer. It would have been interesting to really see how this lens works in even more diverse scenarios. Off the top of my head, I can think of a few things. There are probably ways to exploit what the lens does to create more targeted areas of effect. Using spotlights or fresnels, you could literally paint in or pinpoint areas of light that would receive the effect. Even light painting or long exposure shots have interesting possibilities here.
I’m happy to see Lensbaby making some moves in this direction. I look forward to more and more interesting entries into the market from them.

Sony announced a new 10 Megapixel Four Thirds sensor with instant HDR

Sony announced a new 10 Megapixel Four Thirds sensor. That sensor is not going to be used on any future MFT camera. But there may be a higher Resolution version in the near future.

The particular new feature of the sensor is the Quad Bayer Coding HDR. Sony writes:

“In this case there is no time difference between long-time integration and short-time integration, which realizes HDR with little blending offset when imaging moving subjects”

That sounds intruiging!

Here are the fulls ensor specs:

Cy:The lion dance was shot HAND HELD with a NONE I.S. Lumix 20/1.7 lens. ISO was at 1,600, lens was at F2.8. The only stabilisation was from the Lumix GX85 camera.
I was really surprise how smooth and shake free the clip is! Panasonic Lumix stabilisation sure came a long way!

Dmitry: “If anyone is interested, I tested the new Kipon
Canon EF to m43 Autofocus adapter with 10 Canon EF mount lenses.   Here is the video
https://youtu.be/n_s_iPZyMf8
I bought this adapter and the information on various sites on this version 2 of the adapter is often wrong.  For example Adorama and Amazon post wrong photos (of the old adapter) in their description.  This version was announced by Kipon in February of 2017.    Since there is a lot of misinformation I just bought one and tested on my EM1 Mark 1.”

Without my, Eyecup is like watching a movie outside, with my Eyecup is nice and dark, great color and contrast and much easier to focus or confirm focus!
