After the big Nikon 1 system fail Nikon is now re-thinking the whole mirrorless startegy. And today the big Japanese television NHK posted an interview with Nikon. The one big takeaway is this: Nikon’s completely new mirrorless system will be on market by Spring 2019.
Nikon did yet not unveil if this is going to be an APS-C or a FF system. If it’s the latter it won’t necessarily be a very direct competitor of the MFT system and play in the same league as the Sony A7 series.

Bryn: “I just recently got back from a trip into west Mongolia to stay with the nomads and eagle hunters. I took my trusty Gh5 with 7 batteries and a couple of power banks to charge them (there is no electricity out there), here is the edit from the trip : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KwQvyYzcOJU“

Lior: “Some days ago, Olympus CEO said that the company has “no intention to create a video oriented camera”. But, the true is that E M1 II can produce some very nice video footage as you can see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4H310SYOSg
This was filmed during my holiday in the French alps. The sad thing is that Olympus can make this camera even greater in video by improving some aspects and by solving some bugs, like WB changing during filming, adding auto ISO to M video etc. They promised us those things more than a year ago in an interview (https://www.dpreview.com/articles/2574196907/exclusive-interview-olympus-r-d-on-continued-e-m1-mark-ii-development) but nothing ever happened since than!
Its really sad, the competition have improved (Panasonic G9, Fujifilm X-H1), Olympus already have the right tool with a strong hardware, please just put some more effort to software – firmware and make it updated. “
Julien “Last month i have been to Siberia to cross by foot and to camp on top of the Baikal Lake, while frozen. The OMD EM1 mkii join me during this adventure so I took pictures I shared there: http://www.toucan.photo/en/russia-discover-the-frozen-baikal-lake/ The EM1 (and pro lenses) worked very well in cold weather, you only need to take care of the batteries.”
