Silver E-M5 ships on June 20th at Amazon.

For a couple of hours Amazon informed that the Silver E-M5 with 12-50mm lens (Click here) will be in Stock on June 20th. As you know the Silver E-m5 had much more preorder requests than expected and indeed is out of Stock almost everywhere like at Amazon Germany, and only three of them are in Stock at Amazon UK. Of course you can find some on [shoplink 29074 ebay]eBay (Click her to see auctions)[/shoplink] but all are overpriced. I think it’s save to sya that it will still need 3-4 weeks before the camera is regularly in Stock. And a month after that Panasonic will announce the GH3. That is going to be a battle between two giants!

P.S.: Mike Kobal (Click here) posted a short Fuji X Pro1 vs Sony Nex-7 vs Olympus OM-D E-M5 video.

(UPDATED) Olympus/Panasonic US deals. Macbook Retina for photographers.

My four year old Macbook Pro is pretty much damaged because of the intense traveling and I am happy that Apple announced something “special” for us photographers. The new Macbook Pro with Retina display has the very likely best screen for photographers with a huge 2880 x 1880 Native Resolution. I am used to work on my over 100 Megapixel [shoplink 28309 ebay]Mamiya 7[/shoplink] files so this is still not enough for me :) Anyway, I already preordered mine and you can preorder yours on apple stores or at Amazon (Click here), Adorama (Click here) and Bhphoto (Click here).

That said here is a list of updated Olympus/Panasonic deals. We are getting closer to the new cameras and lens release in late August and I expect moge and more deals coming soon. All that stuff has the lowest price ever (Click on it to see the product page on Amazon): Olympus E-PL1, Panasonic GH2, Panasonic 45-175mm, Panasonic 14-140mm, Panasonic 14-42mm, Panasonic X 14-42mm, Olympus 14-42mm, Olympus 40-150mm. Full lens rebate page at BHphoto. And Nokton 17.5mm in Stock at Amazon and Bhphoto.

US stores: New low price for the E-PL1 and GH2 (And the 12mm SLRmagic in Stock).

We know the GH and PEN series will be updated in August/September. So it’s not a surprise to see again some price drops on those cameras. The E-PL1 body now sells for $149 only at Amazon (Click here). And the GH2 with 14-140mm lens price dropped down to $1149 again at Amazon (Click here). Notice that there are only three kits left in Stock.

And all these lenses are on the lowest price ever: Panasonic 45-175mm, Panasonic 14-140mm, Panasonic 14-42mm, Panasonic X 14-42mm, Olympus 14-42mm.

Panasonic 12-35mm preorder option back. GX1 new low price.

Last week we had quite a heart attack when we heard that Amazon deleted some of the 12-35mm lens preorders. I had the fear we would have to wait a much longer time than expected to get the lens in our hands. A small good news is that preorder option is now back at Amazon US (Click here). Speaking of little good news. There is a new low price record ($774) on the GX1 with X lens and plenty of accessories at Adorama (Click here). For $782 at Amazon (Click here) and the GH2 with kit lens is back at $799 again at Amazon (Click here).

Olympus E-M5 in Stock at Amazon. Free case in Europe! (+great Venus shots and new reviews)

At the moment of posting this the E-M5 with 14-42mm lens is in Stock at Amazon US (Click here). And Amazon UK (Click here) and Amazon FR (Click here) are offering a free case along the E-m5. That said let’s talk about the magical event from yesterday when Venus did cross over the Sun. You can find some great E-M5 shot of that event at Footlessfish. Amazing! Now you have to wait over 100 years to see that again!

Some new E-M5 tests:
First impressions by Richard Chomko at TheOnlinePhotographer: “All in all the OM-D is a fun camera to use. It has just about all the features you’d want in an everyday carry around camera, aside from maybe a Leica M style range/viewfinder. But with its tilt screen, in-camera stabilization, built-in eye level finder, state of the art high ISO performance, vast range of Micro 4/3 lens options, retro styling and ergonomic functionality, it’s easily worth the $1,000 price to me.
E-M5 review at The.me: “No doubt there will be better cameras in the future. The OM-D E-M5 though will allow you to skip the next upgrade cycle. That camera’s here to stay for a while. Pair it with the best glass available — good glass lasts a lifetime — and you can happily ignore what camera makers come up with for quite some time.
Norwegian review at Akam.no. Focus Numerique posted the E-M5 hands.on (including sound check).

Panasonic US production problems reloaded. Also the 20mm out of Stock :(

Yesterday I had to share the bad news that Amazon US deleted your 12-35mm X lens preorders “Due to a lack of availability“. Now 43rumors readers made me notice that even the 20mm f/1.7 lens is out of Stock in any major store like Amazon, Adorama, BHphoto, Samys, J&R and so on…
Three years I do write on 43rumors….three years I see Panasonic having constant US supply problems on almost all most requested products. P.S.: Olympus also had some delay with the E-M5 shipment but preorders are now shipping at Amazon, Adorama, BHphoto.

P.S: Updated Panasonic lens/camera rebates list:
1) The 3D lens is in Stock for $49 only at BHphoto and for $67 at Amazon.
2) Panasonic GF3 with 14mm lens for $379 at Amazon.
3) Panasonic 14-140mm for $499 at Amazon and BHphoto.
4) The Panasonic 45-175mm X lens is now in Stock for $299 at BHphoto. For $282 at Samys.
5) The 14-42mm normal lens (not X!) is in Stock for $99 at Amazon and BHphoto.
6) The 14-42mm X lens is in Stock for $328 at Amazon.
