CameraKompare, a new iPhone app for you!
J.D. just created a new awesome APP for your iPhone:
“Hello,
Thanks for such an awesome site. I’m a longtime 43rumors.com fan and have been an Olympus fan for what seems forever… I started w/E-1 and never looked back, now the E-P1 always has a place in my backpack
.
Yesterday my iPhone app called “CameraKompare” was approved by Apple:
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/camera-kompare/id377666756?mt=8
The purpose of the app is to have complete specs for almost every digital camera (1400+), and to let you compare any two cameras that you want to. It can also automatically find similar cameras (based on format, size, zoom, etc.) The app has free lifetime updates and I’ll be keeping it fresh as new cameras are release. Currently it has an introductory price of $0.99 USD
And since I am a big EVIL fan, I made sure that the app has every EVIL camera that I know of:

If you think your other readers would find the app useful, I would really appreciate it if you posted about it sometime.
Please keep up the great work and thanks so much for everything!“
Reminder: Also the getolympus APP is available on iTunes!

2 years ago |Hey guys, thanks so much for the nice compliments!
I would definitely like to build it for Android. I don’t have an ETA for an Android version yet, but I will make sure to notify 43rumors.com once it is ready.
Also, please let me know if there are any features you would like to see added! [I'll keep checking the comments here] I hope to keep adding features and keep it fresh as new cameras are released (and lifetime upgrades are free!)
Best regards,
-JD

2 years ago |Problem with focussing on specs is that many important differences can’t be captured by a simple number.

Good point. That’s a major goal for future versions: including actual image quality info and handling characteristics.
For the present, V1.0 is meant as a reference tool so photographers can easily get the full specs for any camera, anywhere, anytime (even if there’s no internet available).
The first couple upgrades will focus on adding even more cameras (hopefully we’ll get to over 1,500) and also camera phones in a separate category (since some are actually starting to have decent entry level photo quality) .
Finally, there are free lifetime upgrades so a purchase at anytime will get all the features as they become available.
PS if you have any other suggestions, please post!
