Blackmagic MFT camcorder now shipping. Kipon still not.

There is a MFT camera announced at Photokina that still ins’t in Stock yet. It is the Blackmagic MFT camcorder. The good news is that John Browley posted that image of the just received Blackmagic MFT camera (discussion at forum.blackmagicdesign / found via Slashcam). If you preordered the camera you may receive it soon too!
Something that isn’t shipping yet is the Kipon adapter with full electronic control. Don’t know why there is a delay and I see only the manual adapters listed on eBay (Click here).. You got some info about that?

5 months ago |So because John Brawly who is involved w/ blackmagic has the camera, you are claiming that it is shipping? How did you come to the conclusion that it is shipping?

5 months ago |Nobody says the camera is shipping. Admin said, ” If you preordered the camera you may receive it soon too!” He said “may,” not “will.

5 months ago |I have to correct myself there. Admin actually said in the header the camcorder was shipping. My apologies! Bad admin, bad! Then again, it IS a rumor site.

5 months ago |m4/3 cameras aren’t shipping yet, but they will be very soon. I think BMD wanted to get some more EF cameras out there first…..

5 months ago |Well, at least there’s a photo of a BMCC MFT that exists. Last week at Supermeet a BM rep implied MFTs weren’t even in production.
Bloom keeps rappin’ about an active BMCC MFT, but likely he’s a dreamer. Just two months before NAB and there doesn’t seem to be any rumors of a challenger. Might be OK to pre-order this and call it a day.

5 months ago |Active MFT or nothing at all. I shall wait.
I do hear the EF BMCC’s are shipping much faster now, though, which is encouraging.

5 months ago |I’d like active as well. I wonder how effectively BM can implement MFT electronics: aperture, OIS, focus-by-wire, AF. Could be a long-time-comin’.
Although touted as a ‘cinema camera’ I think it can be rigged or tripod-mounted for street shoots and docs. The major caveat I see is the lack of 24-70mm or 28-70mm (equivalent) zoom, which would be 10-30 or 12-30 for the BM. Who makes that in passive that’s not a fisheye? Thus, I haven’t pre-ordered.

5 months ago |Most “active” lenses need too much distortion and vignetting correction that I would not care about them. The resolution of the BMCC is about 3mpx, the distortion correction will make all your sharp Olympus lenses really soft in the corners.
Myself, I hope that the announced Schneider lenses are not “active” – with mechanical aperture and focus + no need for distortion correction.

5 months ago |Be careful with Kipon, it is very cheap chinese quality, I had a canon FD / m43 adaptor which was working very very bad (mechanical play). I will never buy Kipon again…

5 months ago |By the time these actually *Are shipping, let alone introduced in active elctrc m43 mount, who knows what new cams could come on the scene to challenge it? Although I suspect the BMCC will be the IQ leader at least through mid-2014 (assuming they have regular availability by then!).
*Admin, the title of your post is more than a little misleading. Perhaps change it to “Will the mft BMCC soon be shipping?” -even That title would be speculative/provocative…
