BH marks some E-P3 kits as “discontinued”
The well known US store BHphoto just marked most of the E-P3 kits as being “discontinued” (Click here to see the list). This doesn’t necessarily mean that the successor is coming but it matches the rumor we posted two weeks ago saying that new Olympus cameras are going to be announced within the next 2-3 months. Question is what’s coming?

Meantime, the E-PL5 is in Stock at Amazon and BHphoto. And so the E-Pm2 (Amazon and BHphoto). But the most sold camera at Amazon is the Panasonic GF3 (ranking here).

7 months ago |I’d say E-PL5 effectively replaces the E-P3.
My guess is the E-P5 will probably assume a higher spec role in the line-up when it comes, probs with the EVF a la nex-6.

7 months ago |The L in EPL was originally “Lite”, and the EP models sat higher in the range. You don’t leave a production line running to build higher range cameras with your worst sensor, no point in making it any longer.
2 possibilities:
1. EP dropped completely and higher spending customers are pointed towards the OMD range
2. new EP model coming with the newer sensor, hopefully with EVF also.

7 months ago |m42 is an old screw mount, not m43. Maybe DPReview has mixed the release content.

7 months ago |Looking on Zeiss’s site, the 15mm lens was release for F, EF and the Zeiss ZM mount (though under different sections
15mm f2.8:
EF & F: http://lenses.zeiss.com/camera-lenses/carl-zeiss-camera-lenses/camera_lenses/slr-lenses/distagont2815.html
ZM: http://lenses.zeiss.com/camera-lenses/carl-zeiss-camera-lenses/camera_lenses/zeiss-ikon/distagont2815zm.html
I’m wondering if the ZM mount is what the M42 in the press release is referencing. It definitely doesn’t appear to represent Micro 43, Zeiss doesn’t list any lenses with the m43 mount on their website.

7 months ago |I think the Zeiss ZM mount is a Leica M mount. That’s what their line of ZM IKON rangefinder lenses seem to have at least.
