Be a little careful in your choice of words, you say they as if you are directing it at Olympus, this advert is a spoof no doubt made by the same person as done some time ago same lens fitted, it would have been better if the 17mm were attached.
Small camera Big pictures .
Yes , this is what I pursue for .
Now please come out with Big Big pictures , to expect IQ as RX1 would be unrealistic but as X Pro should be quite reasonable .
So let’s do it , Olympus !
My god, you’re in complete denial!
You should check for yourself really, but for your information, the quality of the pictures provided by the E-M5 in term of dynamic range is similar to that of the Nikon 300. Well that’s fine for me my friend
The E-M5 sensor is better than the 300s sensor; it is not too far behind those of the NEX-7 or the D7000. Of course it will not catch up with APS-C or FF sensors, just as FF sensors will never catch up with the MF sensors.
But the sensor is only a part of the equation: the FF body sizes, lens sizes, etc will never catch up with what is possible with mFT body sizes, etc.
actually, they’re right. I’m just jealous because people with an iphone can take better pictures than I can with the latest generation dslr.
bigger sensors may always be better within the current generation, but now I realise the current m43 sensors can do better than previous generation aps-c, which many excellent photographers used in past (and now) without issue.
sorry to waste all your time with my small penis, I mean sensor, issues.
Then, why don’t you sell your dslr and just use an iPhone to take pictures? What’s the point of complaining about much better cell phone cameras are. If you’re not happy with it, sell it for something else. Personally, I enjoy using a well made camera. It’s a machine I love to tool around and use to it’s maximum capabilities.
I am not an Oly fanboy. I have a 7D + loads of lenses and I am eyeing the E-M5. Much lighter + the image quality is on par with my 7D, if not better (and the DXO comparison tool confirms that impression).
The ad above mainly addresses the portability aspect, not the sensor. Nobody here denied that FF is better (for DR and noise mainly) than m4/3 or APCS for that matter… When it comes to APSC, the E-M5 is not far behind and sometimes as good.
pretty much the whole website is olympus advertising with an occasional bone thrown at the Panasonic users.Olympus fanboys are like cockroaches let one in and before you no it there are dozens
To be honest, I prefer using cameras with tiny sensors over not using tiny body parts that let their owners seeking compensation in trolling and buying cameras with big sensors.
Built-in flash is really unnecessary. If you absolutely need a flash (maybe to fire aux strobes) the add-on one works.
I’ve had mine for almost 6 months and have never used the flash. It’s in my bag, but it simply gets no use. Fast lenses and good high ISO performance is a way better way to go about it, IMO.
I thought the ad was good. I’ve not seen Olympus advertise off the internet though here in the UK. I wouldn’t be surprised if Nikon changed this ad a little, put on their usual music and Jaime Oliver and use it for themselves.
lol Dexterity… you might not believe what gear i’m using with olympus… 14-35, 35-100, e-3 and etc… you got to be kidding me haha lol… but we’re not talking about DEX or STR or AGI or HP or MP here… its about the small camera but same output with DSLR lol…
…is not Olympus fault if Canon and Nikon haven’t moved in 10 years a bit from their position, haven’t made any kind of innovation or placed something new in a decade or two in digital photography, just bigger pixel counts…all software bugs staying in those cameras for years and years… a classic 35mm slr are more portable then those behemoths..
Looks good to me. I sold all my FF stuff and went entirely m43rds. Personally I love the system, the light weight and the cheaper bodies (a850 $2300 OMD $1000)
The way I see it, studio work between 16mp and 24mp is nothing, and while 36mp will be better I personally cant be bothered with the file sizes.
Event work will be well served with a couple of good OMDs with fast primes or the up coming fast zooms from Panasonic. Once Olympus release their 43rds (or m43rds) pro body with HG and SHG lens support I will probably pick up a 14-35 f2.
Sports still is a realm of the DSLR, however only just, and because I dont do sports and never will, it just doesnt factor in.
Wildlife? A smaller AF area would be nice from m43rds, but again with Olympus say releasing a E-7 with the 50-200 one has a very competitive setup with a good price.
Many here just dont realize how great having a portable system is. And with Olympus bodies and the wireless triggering with the strobes, along with lenses that perform well across the frame wide open I just dont get the bitching.
