Another reason why we Europeans are so jealous of US Americans: They can have the Olympus 40-150mm lens for $150 only!
Now it’s becoming very unfair! While we europeans can get the Olympus 40-150mm lens for over 250 Euro only you US guys can get it for $150 (110 Euro) only!!! Check out BHphoto (Click here) to get the lens. That price makes it the cheapest Micro Four Ghirds lens on market. And we are not talking about a bad quality lens. DiwaLabs and SLRgear alredy tested the lens and said that it has an “excellent performance”. If those price drops will continue next month you will only have to buy a coffee for the BHphoto storekeeper to get the lens for free
Check the price and availability of the lens at Amazon, Adorama, B&H, J&R, eBay.

2 years ago |Well I rather whine about it being expensive than not being able to get it!
Now that I got that out of my system…
F**king HELL! 150$ ???»?

2 years ago |Thank you for posting. Does this lens work with the Lumix GF1? Would I need an adapter to fit to GF1 or will it fit right out of the box?
wife
2 years ago |should work with GF1. I got mine for $109 and it works fine with the G2. no adapter needed.

2 years ago |No wonder, why Panasonic was reluctant to put the GH2 onto the U.S.market in large enough quantities.

2 years ago |I have this lens. I bought it with E-PL2. One thing I can say for sure is that it’s far from “excellent performance”. It’s build quality is not bad at all – almost the same as new M. Zuiko 14-42 II. But picture quality is far from sharp in corners and has some color fringing. It’s better than compact zooms, but for me it was little disappointing. For it’s price it’s ok.
mahler
2 years ago |Hmm, I would not call the build quality of the 14-42 II has too good. Plastic mount, general very light and plasticky feeling. If the 40-150mm is sold at such a low price, it is also because of the build quality.

2 years ago |Luckily BH store ship world wide, so the rest of the world doesn’t have to get jealous
Too bad I already got 14-140mm lens, otherwise I would buy this in a heartbeat!

2 years ago |Wow, talk about cheap – at this price it’s tempting to buy this guy, even though I already own the Panasonic 45-200mm.

2 years ago |Just ordered as it is such a good deal. I already have the 4/3 version with adapter but I can’t bare the slow AF sometimes.

2 years ago |When I click on the link above, I see the lens at B&H for $249. 399-150 instant rebate. What am I missing?
Jadakiss
2 years ago |The price is actually marked at $250 at the B&H Photo link you have provided.
However, packaged with the EPL-2, it is maybe $100-$150 extra.
I really, really wish they could produce the 12-60mm Zuiko f2.8- for MFT system.

2 years ago |I’m confused… the lenses looks like they are $250. The black one is sold out… maybe it was cheaper when it was in stock? Was it ever really listed at $150?
If you ever find this lens for that price again, please repost… Thanks.
GC
2 years ago |I think it was a price error, or maybe a short term fire sale to reduce stock or something.
The price a few hours ago was $299 – $150 = $149.
The price now is $399 – 150 = $249.
Hope they honor the original price…..
Andy
2 years ago |They honour my, Invoice says 149.99 and my order was shipped a few minutes ago.

2 years ago |Well its a simple answer.
Socialism is expensive. Depending on currency valuation sometimes it gets less expensive.
So don’t complain you get your healthcare and education for free.
Joel
2 years ago |Olympus pays for our their healthcare and education?
Bunfoolio
2 years ago |No the respective governments add a lot of tax to consumer products.
JM
2 years ago |Something’s wrong then, if I have to pay for both education and healthcare…
ronbot
2 years ago |Ordered a silver one for 149.99 (black ones were out of stock) a couple of hours ago; and with shipping, the total is $153.59.
Checked the site again, and it is $199.99. This reminds me of a recent Staple sale where it was 129.99 for a very brief moment, but it was sold out so I couldn’t order one. And when it went back in stock, it went back up in price.
It could be a clerical error, but most likely the sale price was only applicable for a limited time and/or certain quantity.
I already have the 4/3 version, but the AF is unbearable at times and this one was a good price, so why not.
Joel
2 years ago |Costs the equivelant of 260 Euros in Australia… joy..

2 years ago |@bunfoolio:
I live in the Netherlands. I pay about 4500 euro for healthcare every year through taxes and monthly fees for insurance. I’d hardly call that free. :-/
Bunfoolio
2 years ago |Well that sucks.
So you pay a lot more in taxes then the US and then on top of it you pay for health care.
Whos stealing all the money? Your getting screwed!
ILO
2 years ago |Yeah, but if you unemployed – you do not pay taxes and still have free healthcare. In US in this case you are screwed twice – you do not have income and still have to pay more than one grand every month for healthcare. It is fair if those who are lucky to be employed pay more in taxes to cover those how have no such luck because of unions, outsourcing, and etc. But in US government invites illegal immigrants in unlimited numbers so probably European model will not work anyway – there are simply not enough legal working citizens to cover all poor and tired from all around the globe.
