2 years ago |Probably a good idea and makes sense. While the resolution is low, face the facts it is still the same resolution used on all of the PENS rear LCDs and you can use it in bright sunlight and is very small. Makes sense to combine with the the slower selling GF1 + zoom combo while for the highly popular 20/1.7 many might prefer just using one of the many optical viewfinders from other manufacturers that will work.
Another possibility of why is Pany’s rumored new smaller m4/3 coming soon might have a optional new EVF but won’t fit with GF1 because interfers with flash operation or small higher resolution one fitting both? Anther factor probably to offer a cheaper alternative to those buying the EPL1 + EP2 EVF.
