follow Fuji X100 on MirrorlessRumors.
A message for our readers: Many of our readers here are interested in getting news about the Fuji X100. But many also not! The problem is that the X100 doesn’t really fit well inside the 43rumors website and that creates some controversy discussion. I think the X100 is an interesting camera and It’s certainly worth to mention this camera on 43rumors from time time for two reasons:
1) Fuji is a Four Thirds group member (but the X100 is not a 43 camera)
2) The X100 brings some nice innovations is nice to talk about
But I kindly ask you to follow my second website which is MirrorlessRumors.com. I am going to work very hard on that website to provide you with unique content. Today I posted a full list of Fuji X100 news (Click here). I will keep posting a few X100 news on 43rumors with the link to MirrorlessRumors so that readers will get used to the new website. I hope this is a good solution for all our readers. Thanks!
P.S.: I will soon post an article about my goals with MirrorrlessRumors.com. I really do think Mirrorless cameras are the future and I am excited about that!
P.P.S.: You can get the Fuji X100 right now at Amazon US (Click here). UPDATE: Out of Stock after 23 minutes!

2 years ago |Why all this X100 news? Is this still a 4/3 and m4/3 rumors site? I don’t care about a camera of 1000 euro without interchangeable lens system.

I agree with such approach – you’ve got my full support.

2 years ago |Sounds like an equitable solution to me, admin, but I think that there will always be somebody who will find fault with anything that’s not hard core m43 or 4/3 thirds news, as pleasing all the people all the time is well nigh impossible. I’m happy with the balance of what you write about; after all it is your web site and you are free to report whatever relevant news and rumours that you see fit. Keep up the good work!

maybe you could import the 43rumors members into mirrorlessrumors as it would save signing up twice????

2 years ago |I am still thinking if 43rumors and Mirrorlessrumros should not merge. The problem 43rumros has a “name”, Mirrorlessrumors has not. And there are also many readers that do want tor ead rumors about 43 stuff only.
I have so many troubles here. I am breaking my head on this.

2 years ago |Yeah tricky situation, but photo video and even phone are now merging in many people’s lives (with panasonic and sony being involved in all three).
I for one shoot about 1/3 video and 2/3 photo.
As well as keeping an eye on the likes of what Fuji, Sony, Ricoh and Samsung are doing for an idea of future developments for four thirds…

That’s another way, maybe even better. Why not make MirrorlessRumors.com the main rumor website, while 43rumors.com would be equal to filtering only 4/3 tagged posts on MirrorlessRumors.com? A category of the site: make http://www.43rumors.com/ redirect to http://www.mirrorlessrumors.com/vendors/panolympus/ for example
. I think that keeping everything on one website is much better for expanding user base than making multiple sites. From advertising revenue point of view – i think not, but you know about that better
.
The problem with that may be that not all 4/3 is mirrorless, so the main website name should change to something else, maybe DCrumors or camerarumors. In that case, you could include Sonyalpharumors content in the “top” site as well…
I know that you used to post about Pentax and others here, it’s just that we’re used to 4/3 news only in the last year – year and a half.

Making user accounts working across the sites would be a first step in right direction. For example I also drop by occasionally at SonyAlphaRumors.
Otherwise, do not let get it into you: m43 brought together many people with different backgrounds. Conflicts are only natural.
Posting info on one site and linking to it on others IMO at the moment is a good approach.
The problem with X100 is as with every other oddball camera (e.g. Sigma SD series) that they do not fit any particular category. As you already use to post oddball news on MirrorlessRumors, I think moving X100 there (and linking it here) might help both ways: keeping 43rumors cleaner and promoting mirrorless rumors.

Don’t get me wrong, I love the X100 but I don’t think this is the place to post everything about it, I come here for 4/3 and m4/3 news and for anything else I’ll go elsewhere just like I also visit other photography, cameras and rumors sites (including yours!). And I have nothing against affiliate links, they don’t get in the way of the content and I think they are a great way to thank all your work, but posting so many X100 news lately -and even some no-news!- just looked very cheap on your part (as if you were just posting those news to find a reason to post some more affiliate links).
Please stay on topic and keep the good work!

2 years ago |Well, I am going to go out on a limb on this one and say why not cover the X100? We are splitting hairs to say that this camera will have no affect on the future of m43. I think that most people here would like to be informed about a camera that will undoubtedly influence many aspects of future m43 development – and frankly this is a rumors site – so it seems like a strange decision to cut off discussion of a potentially important direction based on the whining of “purists”. If we listened to purists, m43 would never have seen the light of day.
When the admin asked for opinions about the tag line for this site “Panasonic and Olympus Digital Camera News”, I think I was the only one to oppose it on the grounds that it was too restrictive. Splitting the x100 off to another site will only reduce readership here IMO. This seems completely counter to the idea of a rumors (i.e. forward looking web site).
