Simon
2 years ago |If a company (like Panasonic) commissions an external ad agency to create a commercial the agency would normally use the equipment they always use. This is common practise and happens all the time. Lots of Windows tv commercials are designed with Apple computers and Apple software, too.
Nevertheless Olympus does a much better job with expecially with their stop-motion series (shot with pen cameras…)

2 years ago |If you show up for an interview at Ford in a Chevy they will immediately show you the door. Panasonic should have the same policy. However, I doubt they would use a hacked GH13 for the shoot so the 5D MKII probably was the right choice.
Wouldn’t be ironic if the GH2 just adds the video features that the hacked GH13 gives you?

With the kind of footage that makes the add, I guess that an unhacked GH1 wouldn’t had cut it. I’m sure this could have been filmed with Panasonic’s line of professional cameras though…
Still, I agree with everyone that says this is the kind of publicity that Panasonic doens’t really want.

2 years ago |Ths behind the scenes is a shame… They should hav choose an ad agency tat uses their Panasonic equipments, not just GH1 but also their Panasonic Professional AVCCAM….
This creates a feel like Coca Cola CEO drinking Pepsi…
the Canon fan boys are going to dance after watching this video. -.-”

2 years ago |Who cares with what this clip was made with.. And if Canon fan boys dance than so what?? This is the most childish and non professional response I’ve even seen on the internet for a long time.
Interview with Ford and you show up in a Chevy?? I doubt that is an issue. It would be an issue if you have to constantly buy another car for every interview.
Panasonic hired the company who was capable enough to do this clip and probably made the best offer. They use Canon for the job. So what.. Who cares.. Grow up..

2 years ago |I think it’s just more impressive to use proprietary equipment…then again they might have not chosen to do so since Oly already did that with the E-PL1 shot with E-PL1 ad.
