Anonymous:Don’t know if you’re needing any material for ‘remains of the day’ or anything, but I shot this short film as part of a 48 hour film competition earlier this month using a GH2 and the new SLRMagic 35mm lens. It was absolutely key to obtaining the low-light shots. Highly, highly recommended lens for MFTs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZZ858MXbkg

Farrukh:This short video on the Royal Greenhouses of Laeken was taken on the EP3, all stills were with the 60mm macro: https://www.facebook.com/Implausibleblog/posts/10152737346305328

Flowerbug:I’m not a great fan of focus-peaking. Nothing beats the sudden beautiful clarity of perfect focus that jumps out at you when focusing with a manual lens…. Who would need highlighted edges to spoil that? So I have mostly ignored Oly fans’ hopes for the focus-peaking feature on future cameras.
When I got my VF-3 viewfinder last December, during the promotional discount, a firmware upgrade for my E-PL1 was required to make it work. So I went online to Olympus and got Firmware upgrade 1.2 installed on my little Oly. The viewfinder works well, but I regret not getting the higher resolution model. Price was a major factor, though, and I could not manage to convince myself to buy a $300 viewfinder for a $150 camera.
Ever since I installed the firmware upgrade 1.2 on the E-PL1, focus-peaking (with blue, glowing edges) has been a part of my manual focus. It’s kind of addictive, in a lazy sort of way. I found I was starting to use it as a rough guide when doing first focus, and then grew to realize it’s usually very close to the focus I set for myself using the magnified screen. I wouldn’t buy a camera to get this, but it’s sort of helpful, sometimes.
I haven’t noticed any mention of this feature in your forum, or others, so finally did a general online search and came up empty. Perhaps you would like to pass along the existence of the feature for folks who have never bothered to update their firmware. I haven’t noticed any new menu features related to it. It’s just there, whether you want it or not. If you have an E-PL1, check it out for yourself.
I enjoy your rumor site a lot. You take the trouble to keep it up to date, and that makes it worth reading. Thanks!
