I shot it using my GF2 and a canon FD 50mm f1.8 legacy lens. I would love if you could give this camera (and my video) some love on your site!”

Anonymous: “This is not simply rumour but a very serious concern, in the EU it is illegal to price fix, i.e. to set a minimum price or to limit sales to certain region or to enter agreements formal or otherwise that would result in a region paying more for goods. There appears to be at least some evidence the GH3 price is being made artificially high in the UK and that sales at the EU price are being prevented to UK citizens. I have detailed some findings here and will be making a formal complaint to the UK’s Office of Fair Trading on Monday 5th November if Panasonic has not replied. Panasonic have been refusing to reply on questions about the UK’s GH3 price on their Twitter account and at least one large UK dealership has failed to honour its own claim of having an EU price match on the GH3. More details can be found here: http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?295430-EU-retailer-leaned-on-by-Panasonic-to-prevent-affordable-UK-GH3-!”

8 months ago |To Anonymous in heading, this is not just a Panasonic thing, I queried with Olympus about the pricing of goods in the US against UK pricing as I had discovered Olympus UK were actualy charging UK dealers more than for some items than US dealers were selling same items.
This is the reply I received from Olympus.
“Olympus Europa and Olympus America both purchase their cameras from Olympus Corporation in Tokyo. As such we are affected by a different exchange rates and different taxes when we bring them into the country. Therefore the base price that Olympus America sells to its retailers from for may differ from that of Olympus UK, Olympus Asia and Olympus Oceania.
It is not the case that we sell to one country at a higher cost than another, and margins are relatively consistent throughout the world.”
Make what you like from these words.

8 months ago |Import duties for same products are same in every EU country so someone is definitely pocketing big bite of those British GH3 prices.
Anyway in general there’s often feeling in electronics pricing that Europe/Australia&NZ are subsidizing cheap pricing in US.

8 months ago |Just grumbling about high prices doesn’t lower them – not buying the goods will result in lower prices.

8 months ago |As it happens I did not purchase anything but will be seeking an alternative source for my requirements, the shame is that excise ruins a purchase from the States, even if their costs are considerably lower than UK. My point was that Oly UK charge UK dealers more then some US dealers could sell certain items.

8 months ago |I don’t think it’s a good idea to promote offers of olympusmarket (ebay-seller) on 43rumors.
First it’s simply advertising for an ebay seller and second it spoils prices. Let people do their own search on ebay.
