Message from one of our readers: “Just in case anyone is interested the new Olympus Viewer 2 Software (Windows version) seems to work great with Linux and WINE. I’m running it on Gentoo Linux without any problems at all.
Stop Here if not interested in programming languages…
I tried earlier versions of one of their packages (Can’t remember which) but they relied on .Net which doesn’t easily work under Linux while this new version seems to be based off of C++. C++ usually (not always) yields faster programs and is much more compatible with my favorite OS (Linux). I’m a software engineer myself just so you know where I coming from.”

Night Shootout: Panasonic GF1 vs Canon 5d MarkII (Veoelmundo)

2 years ago |The comparison on Dkamera.de between the NX10 and E-PL1 is very interesting, and seems objectively written. There are however some important translation errors in the Google link. Where Google translation says:
“The overall results with the Olympus PEN Kitzooms E-PL1, the Samsung NX10 is superior in image quality.”
The actual translation is more something like: In comparison with the kitzooms, the E-PL1 beats the NX10 in terms of Image Quality. This also makes sense with the rest of the text, where they say that if you are nonetheless interested in the Samsung because of speciifications of the body, it’s better to get the 30mm pancake.
and earlier:
“Although the folding mechanism of the Olympus Zuiko 14-42mm M. not for everyone, but only the visible poorer image quality compared to the Samsung 18-55mm zoom lens are clear.”
Which actually says: Although the folding mechanism is not for everyone, but only the in a comparison visibly poorer imaging performance of the Samsung zoom lens speak volumes.
Has someone in Korea tampered with Google Translate?
