UPDATED: First Noktor image samples (aperture test)
I just received the new Noktor 50mm f/0.95 lens. I don’t have time today to review the lens (I will test the lens this weekend) but I could not resist to share some of the first pictures I have taken today.
I have taken three shots with different aperture (taken with the Olympus E-P1 -> maximal quality jpg without any post-processing)

Following picture has been taken with aperture f/0.95

Following picture has been taken with aperture f/1.4

Following picture has been taken with aperture f/2.0

More pictures will be posted soon. Let me know what kind of test I should made for you! Thanks!
P.S.: Feel free to use the pictures. If you post them please referr to this website!
UPDATE:

But a very interesting bit of gear nonetheless.

3 years ago |Some night shots with f/0.95 please! Not closeups, but street shots with moving subjects. If you could find a fire at night it would be nice to see what can be done with Noktor

3 years ago |Could you please shoot a short video, like 10 Secs or so of a guy or gal standing some steps away from a one colored wall or faced towards the sky? Wide open? Like 1/3 of the Image Person, the rest blurred out back? Amd could you send me the videofile to postprocess?
Need them for testing and would thank you a lot.
Of cause I’d link here with the Results taken online…

(Not sure if you understand what I mean, my English is far from perfect.)

3 years ago |Congratulations, and I see you were very favoured, production No. 0002!
While the lens is very specialist, and not so many will see the need to buy it, it is momentous. The first native m43 lens aside from Panasonic and Olympus. Admittedly it doesn’t carry the logo, but it also doesn’t appear to be carrying a lawsuit. Please, Cosina and Sigma: get with the picture! Place this mount on your primes!
I am also keen to see how it works in very low light, such as parties and campfires, with stills and video.

3 years ago |The Noctor certainly gives you that highly desired ultra short depth of field, and it’s seems fairly small and leightweight, but it is also one of the softest (most unsharp) lenses I ever saw.

3 years ago |I would like to see how it does against something like the Canon 55m F1.2. For $200 that lens is way sharper at F1.2 and you can vary the aperture in stepless fashion.
With the Noktor you basically have no choice but to shoot at F2.0 with it if you want something other than a watercolor picture. For $850 I can’t see a legitimate use for this lens. I would much rather by an F1.0 c-mount lens and deal with the cropping.
Here is what I would expect a wide aperture lens to look like.

55mm Canon F1.2 @ F2.5 You couldn’t use any wider aperture in sunlight with the GF1 @ 1/4000 of a second. With the EPL1 limit of 1/2000 of a second the Noktor would never be able to take a shot at less than F3.0 in sunlight. What is the point?
